Hmm, the only Hotel I know of that comes recommended in the area is The Big Sleep but it's a good 10 or so miles from the airport.

I don't go to Cardiff much so that's my "local knowledge" exhausted :p

I had a look at that one, but was hoping for something a bit closer to the airport to save pfaffing around with taxis etc. I am keeping an open mind though. If I can get the right hotel at the right price, I can endure a bit of hassle (it's not as if I'm short of time), so keep 'em coming.

Okay you Welsh types (and anyone else who may know about these things):
I am currently trying to find a hotel, handy for Cardiff airport, for the 4th & 8th August.
After various online searches, the only available hotel I have come up with close to the airport is the 'Days Inn' (a bit basic but only £54.95 a night and handy for the airport).
If anyone 'in the know' has any better suggestions, please post on here or e-mail me before 20.00 tomorrow (I really want to get this booked ASAP: a) to ensure booking and b) so I can give Pigmo (Station)* as much time as possible to sort out the best route for transporting myself (picking up Haly on the way) to the venue).

Many thanks

Stan :)

*I have started thinking of Pigmo as Station - two formidable beings who merged to become one super being :)

Station .. LMFAO !!! :D

The Desmo part of Pigmo will be picking you up as I can't get that day off work :)

Oki !

Travel Inn is about 6 miles from Airport - It's also dead easy to find as it's on the route to the airport

Travel Lodge is 8 miles from Airport and is right off the M4 :

3 B&B's listed here :

Thanks Piggy.

Travel Inn looks favourite at the moment. Only fifty quid a night and at least I know what to expect with them (should also be nice and easy for Desmo to find).

Will book tonight when I get back to the flat and e-mail the details to Desmo.

It's right next door to a beefeater as well :D

Looking forward to meet you again Stan :)

Mmmm, Beefeater. Better strengthen the suspension on the car :D

Looking forward to seeing you again too mate - only 113 days to go (the ladies better start packing now to give them plenty of time to unpack, change things and re-pack 27 times:p )

Stan, no need to go rushing around for just little ol' me :) Only reason I asked is so that I can work out some rough timings on when I'd need to leave Piggy's but it's really no rush.

I've got sat-nav so shouldn't be a problem finding you.

Piggy said you'd be able to take my stuff since i'm coming on the bike.. Is that okay with you?

I'm still going just now likely to need a lift from the Surbiton area as finally another offer on the house which we are currently considering. They are having a 2nd viewing on Saturday and ex-wife to be has been told not to mess the sale up by being too greedy. So house will likely be sold before the meet :D

So any volunteers for a drive through Surbiton to collect me and various camping and the essential kettle BBQ if we need it.

I wanted to get it sorted as soon as possible anyway, so I didn't have any rushing about nearer the time. Hotels near airports tend to be rather busy at that time of year, so my early booking wasn't entirely for your benefit :)

Wonderful thing, sat-nav, I have no sense of direction whatsoever so I need sat-nav to find the bathroom :o - I always seem to be able to locate a pub, strangely enough :D

That was another one of my ideas but she posted it for me as I was suspended at the time :o

Yep, no probs with that mate. I'll be travelling down on the Thursday night so I can either grab it on my way through or pick it up the night before. No problem at all.

I'll drop it off at yours during the week. I apreciate that.

Hey was in Braintree on Wednesday night.. went to the Mexican and Cineworld.. Very nice Mexican it was too :)

I know it's only april, but struggling a bit.

Cant seem to get hold of the person who'd be the best person to have megan for the weekend :(

lol, looking like it might have to be +1 in mine and 8I3ALL's tent unless a miracle happens and Megan magically becomes happy with sleeping at someone else's house without me being there.

Dont worry, I wouldnt really bring her along, if all else fails I'll just have to not come :( such is life.

If you would like to bring her then there is another area of garden where you can pitch a tent away from the masses and noise in either direction should not be a problem, its something to consider. PLus I am sure that Ma and Dad would be happy to make the house available to you for bathing her etc.
