With the exception of the GFX cards that what I will be using when my 120GB arrives. Currently running on a old 250GB mechanical.

Sure, google is your friend. Plenty of information on the Marvel controller being crap for SSDs:

I'd give moving the F3's to the Marvel ports to free up the Intel Sata3. I'm not sure if the RAID will follow over though, it's worth a try. Make sure you do a full backup before attempting in case it does something funky and destroys your data.

Just what I was looking for thanks ;-) Looks like I will be moving over to the Intel shortly. Hopefully the Raid0 F3's wont suffer too much.

Testbed Specs:
Intel Core i7 2600k @ 4.6GHz
16GB Corsair XMS3 1600MHz
Asus P67
Intel 40GB SSD Boot Drive

single drive results look a bit slow on CDM - not sure whats going on there
single drives are on the 6gbps controller and not the marvel

I'd still be pleased by that! nearly 1gb read rates! holy quick OS load batman!

how long does it take for you to get to desktop from cold boot?

in theory it should be about 8/9 seconds. A few in BIOS, and then windows loading into RAM is probs a max of 3gb ie 3-4 seconds.

Those results are strange, I get:

With my Marvell controller, slower then the newer Intel ones, but still much better then in that review.

Looks like you're getting better writes and very slightly better reads, but even still it's not getting the full potential out of the drive. I think I'd rather buy a pair of 2E's.

Anyone got any ideas how to make this work properly using the U3S6 PCI bridge?

I'm getting about half the speed I should be, installed the latest drivers for the controller, I'm hoping there might be a bios setting I've missed.

When I boot up it detects the SSD and says it's in Sata 6GB/s mode.

Motherboard = P6T Deluxe
