What are the differences between the A05NB and the A05?

Isnt the N to indicate it being a revised version and the B to tell you what colour it is (B being black)?

yeah, the n means new revision. afaik, the roof panel on the n is easier to remove, it has a screwless mechanism for the optical drive bays, and its got vented pci slot covers.

I have pretty much finished the current stage of mine:


The scythe mugen 2 takes up a lot more space than i expected, so the tubing runs out of the case atm.

i'll prolly get a cpu block in a few weeks so that i can get the tubing internal and reclaim a lot of interior space, and thinking of adding another rad since a 4870x2 and i7 920 is maybe a bit much for a slim triple rad.

I'm about to order the following rig for my parents. The case (Lian Li PC-A05NB) has already been ordered. Since you all seem to have the same case, I thought I'd check your thoughts on these components in the A05NB unmodified. Here's the list:

2 Questions:

1) Can I fit 2 hard drives + the DVD drive in the case without the hard drive rack in the case?

2) Do you think the case will be cool enough? I won't be overclocking as the rig will primarily be for my parents.

No.

Yes.

Yes as long as you don't plan to use a floppy drive. You could put 1 in the 3.5" bay and 1 in one of the 5.25" bays, but you'd need some 3.5"->5.25" adaptor brackets.

I made a few changes to my set up due to my CPU and 8800GT getting very toasty. I added a Noctua CPU cooler and fans, and also mounted a 14cm Scythe fan to the top. Temps have since dropped drastically!

Are you actually leaving your case without the side panel?

At the moment yes. Mainly because it's easier to press the reset button on the motherboard than it is to use a pen and press the reset button on the case

I'm trying to tweak my settings and hopefully get my i7 920 to 4Ghz!

i7 Build

Hi all

This is my first post here. I fell in love with the case as soon as I saw it and decided this will be my new build after my last one in 2003. I took all the info from here and HardOcp and came up with these parts. It will run about $1850.00 US with the case frame anodized black and a gray tinted window installed. I wanted a really clean build with only the Scythe Kasemaster 3.5 black fan controller showing in front Like one of the posts I saw here. I am doing most of the work myself except for the anodizing. What are your thoughts on this build + or -.
