[H]ardforum has about 127 pages worth of a05b spec and stats, i think 62 was bandied around, but if you get the PCI plates with air slits, and and/or the lian li BS-03 you wouldn't have so much of a problem

70-71C temps under load: 8800GTX, which is as hot as my ATi card ued to get in a case which had better cooling (supposedly :p)

Yeah saw that thread, its mahoosive, didn't have time to trawl through it :) Reason I asked about the temp at the top is that I have a custom cooler on the graphics card and it doesn't expel air out the back by default, so it needs a good way of removing it =/

BS-03 then, can be had for £15ish from various etailers (although, as far as i can tell OcUK don't sell it :()

or just go the modding way, 120 rad grill +hole in top of case + fan :) shouldn't take more then 20 minutes
 
just ordered my a05b :D thought i'd pick it up whilst it was both in stock and i had the money (a rare occurrence :eek:) and thanks to the free shipping from OcUK it makes it the cheapest around, nice one :cool:
 
The sharkoons are good but if I had to choose a "cheap" 120mm quiet fan I've been really impressed with the Zalmans that I got for my rad on my other rig. They move a decent amount of air and are pretty quiet and come with a step down cable for 7.5V and silicon mounts for <£7.

are those the 1000 or 2000 rpm sharkoons, and how do you rate them? it's a toss up between them or the 120mm noctuas, but at double the price i'm leaning toward the sharkoons...

lol well i had a enermax 1000 watt take the 780 out:( So had to RMA to enermax they returned a new PSU in a day but the board went to thailand for testing:mad:
In the meantime i could not do without a rig so bought a 790 and some DDr3:cool:..then i recieved a brand new 780 hence why its lying around;)

The fans are 1000rpm there pretty quiet but dont push the same air as noctua! if ya can afford it buy the ugliest fan in the world;)

Found myself in the same position, it come this morning and im really pleased with it, havnt got my system up and running yet as im waiting for a corsair hx520 and there seems to be a problem wit parcel force. its been over a week without my pc and its killing me and now i have this lovely case i cant get up and running :(

Are they quieter than the sharkoons? Also do you have a link for these please?
 
Here's mine, been setting it up over the last few days. All the components bar the case and watercooling used to be in a battered Akaska Zen.

I wanted to get a full wc loop inside including rad + fans but it wouldn't quite fit (A bit ambitious for my first ever case mod!). The thermochill 120.2 is a bit of a beast! I just want to find a shroud for the fans on the case roof so they are enclosed but apart from that it is done :-).

Spec is E8400 @ 4Ghz
4gb ram (black dragon stuff)
HD 4870 (790/1100)

Temps are nice and low now they are on water so I might try and push them a bit further.

Nice build, looks good, though you're missing the obligatory Akasa soundproofing!

I had my rig in one of those Akasa Zen cases (I had two before and they were fine on older pcs) but had to change to a P182 to get reasonable temps! You really do notice the quality of a good case over that though.

Can you show some more pictures?
How many slots did that rad cover?
What temps do you get idle/load for cpu and gpu?
How many mm are below the mobo - between mobo edge and bottom of the case? Would it be possible to lower the mobo to the bottom and then fit rad with fans inside the case?

I've got a few more things on order (including a new camera) and when they arrive I'll get some more pictures.

The rad covers 2 pci slots (although one might still be able to be used if it s a thin pci card). The thermochill is a double thickness radiator so takes up a bit more space than a regular rad, you could probably fit everything inside if you used a single thickness rad like this, however, I'm not sure how good the cooling potential of it would be.

If I got a usb wifi dongle and removed my pci card I'd be able to fit the fans it too but I'd be making less room for airflow which probably isn't ideal.

The motherboard can't be moved down as it has to line up to the pci slots and the motherboard backing plate of the case. I guess if you wanted more space at the top you could just use a mATX board but I didn't fancy buying one. On a plus side, the rad covers the power/reset/leds connections and the external usb + firewire connections on the mother board so hiding those cables was quite easy.

Temps are a lot better than before. I used to have a Noctua on my cpu (idle temp 39-40, load 59-60) and an Accelero on my 4870 (idle 42, not sure load)

On water my CPU idles around 37-38 so not too much change but under load doesn't go above 53. My GFX card idles at 32 now so that is a huge difference (especially to when it had it's stock heat sink on!)

All of this and there are less fans in the case and those that I have are running at a lower rpm. The only thing I have to try and do is reduce the noise of the pump as it's the loudest part of the case but that isn't really loud, just sounds like a quickish fan.

Do you recon it will be right with

Asus striker2formula
Core 2 Duo E4600 to a Q6600 not decided
2 gig ram
8800gt to a 8800gtx not decided
1T hdd
1 optical drive
3 fans including cpu

Reason i am looking at this good make/cheap/modular and will be low cost to run:D

for anything else i'd say no, but as it's a corsair i can't see why not :), although i though only the HX's were modular?
 
Loking on the net i dont think it is mdular, havnt been able to find the OEM but if it is seasonic like most others then it should be a decent enough supply.
