Has anyone had issue with the screen getting damaged due to the the really tight tolerances between the keyboard/top case and the screen ?

Over the course of a few weeks cycling into work and carrying it in a backpack on the train the screen ended up with 30-40 pits as far as I could tell due to small bits of dust/dirt from the keyboard/top case getting rubbed into the screen when in a backpack. I was wiping down the keyboard and screen before taking it in the backpack when I noticed a couple but the issue kept on occurring.

Apple store replaced the screen but wouldn't give any reasons for the cause but admitted they'd replaced a few. I expected a fight with them saying user damage the tell tail question that they know it's an issue was asking do you carry this a lot in a laptop bag.

My main concern is it's going to happen again when you put it in a backpack/laptop bag. My old XPS was carried for 3 years probably hundreds of times in a backpack and the screen had no marks on it.

Since the latest Edge update it's hammering my battery.

Mine is the same after the Safari/Monterey 12.6 update checking the CPU usage most processes seem to be running on the performance cores rather than the efficiency ones, CPU temps were up in the 60s and battery life down. A reboot fixes it temporarily but reoccurs after a few hours.

Still no Edge update, I might have to use Chrome or Firefox until they fix it. I use Safari as my main browser but if I watch Twitch or other web based streaming platforms, I find Edge much better than Safari especially for audio.

I never liked Edge on macOS, it's quite sluggish and just doesn't feel quite as snappy as Chrome or Safari.

I don't find Edge sluggish at all, but I use it for very few sites. I'll use Firefox for the few sites until MS sort their **** out as I'm not going to use Chrome.

I'm finally Windows free! I've been allocated a 16 inch paving slab MacBook pro by work and I'm mostly happy with it. The MagSafe cable back is back in the box as it's an abomination, they should have put more Type C ports in its place. I've been through the suggested software in the other thread and installed Rectangle which is cool, also signed in with my personal Apple ID to get all of the integration working as well.

I like it when I'm using it on the kitchen table, as I don't have a power port underneath the table and my mrs is extremely clumsy.

Paving slab is right :D I'll definitely not go for 16" again once this one needs upgrading. It's mahoooosive. 14" is so much more normal.
