I mean the base price here makes things look worse but it's a pretty consistent £200-per-upgrade across the board.Tempting at 599 now they have upped the RAM. However charging an extra 33% to upgrade to 512gb is scandalous even by apple standards. A bit rubbish to have the smaller design then have to hang an ssd off the back.

First set of features were released yesterday in the US, which is pretty much what all their marketing follows. Why are they still banging on about apple intelligence in the sales pitch, it's not even out, I bet it wouldn't be out when you buy this mini !
How much did they offer for the MacBook?Ordered the M4 Pro/24GB/512GB/10GbE with a trade in for my M1 Pro 16" MacBook Pro which has done nothing but sit in clamshell mode and annoy me at the size of it.
Similar thinking to myself. My base 16" M1 Pro is struggling with the files from my recently acquired GFX 100s. I'm fairly confident that the base Pro model should be a sufficient step up.Just put in a pre-order for the top spec CPU, 64gb memory and 2tb HD. Replacing a 3 year old (to the day almost) M1 macbook pro with 32gb memory, 1TB storage.
Its still a great machine but its showing its age a little at times and some of the stuff I am doing at the moment with generating large sets of high resolution images cooks the laptop and would happily eat up a lot more CPU/Memory.
Will clean up the desk a little as well.

Possibly, but you’re sitting with the M1 Max with 64gb whereas I’m on the M1 Pro with 16gb - that’s hardly an apples to apples comparison? (Pun very much intended). You guys for real? My M1 MacBook Pro flies.........I mean, I literally do photos and video for a living so use it all day every day & meetings etc
I am using an M1 Max with 64gb Ram, but still, nothing is struggling here.
Or is this the old 'I want to justify my purchase '
