***The Official 5900X \5950X owners thread***

I've moved my 3900X into one of my other PCs that needed a bit more power and got the 5900X as it was £499 on the weekend. The 5900X should last me a few years while I wait for DDR5 to mature a bit.

I've kept my system the same (Gigabyte B450 Aurous M, 32GB Patriot Viper @ 3600 and an NZXT Z73 360mm AIO). With my 3900X running at 4.4GHZ @ 1.35v I was getting gaming temps around the mid 50. With the 5900X, I've used curve optimizer and used -10 on all cores and +200 on the boost. I'm seeing the chip boost to 5150MHz and the temps while gaming are around 68-73. This is within tolerance but seems quite high for a top end AIO. Is it worth tweaking further? If so, what would people suggest? I've got a 5600X coming to replace the 2700X in my partner's PC so keen to understand how to get more out of these 5000 series chips!

I have everything MSI x570 unify , kraken z73 , Samsung 980 pro 500gb for OS drive but will still be using 5700xt sapphire nitro+

Would love 3080 AIB card to complete the build but that ain't happening

Finally got my 5950x a few days ago to pair with my 3090 FE, had been waiting a while for it to hit MSRP places.

Now need to decide if I sell my 3950x or make a silly spec home server.

It was 260ish where I saw it (the only place I could see it in stock)

16 16 16 36 timings
Seems decent, Ram prices have gone up.
It's probably B die ram and probably dual rank (best to wait for someone else to confirm) which is the best to get for Ryzen and RGB.

The crucial Ballistix has timings of 16-18-18-36 and you don't know if it's dual rank or single rank.

Just taken the plunge and ordered with the prices now down.

Spent so much on tech during the pandemic, this has to be it for the next few years . Hoping I can get away with the motherboard.

RTX 3080
5900X
B450M MSI Mortar (non-max)
2x 16GB Crucial Ballistix Sport LT

Hi there guys
I'm new to this forum. Never posted (since I have not too much knowledge to help anyone), but I have gotten lots of help from this site.
I got a Ryzen 9 5950x a week ago. It's my first AMD in 10 years and I got worried when I saw the temps both idle and under load.
I found some info about the Arctic Liquid cooling solutions and their mounting bracket offset. I was tempted to buy it but I really like the looks of my Galahad cooler so... I thought "why not offset the stock AM4 mounting bracket?"
Long story short, I'm 3D printing it right now, and I hope I can test it tomorrow. If it does really improve the thermals I will share it here as my first contribution :)

Good luck with the experiment, and welcome to the forums!

Upgraded 3900x to 5950x.
Quick OC to 4.6 @ 1.25v (AIO), 64GB @3600 CL16, don't have more time, busy Chia plotting, still 130TB to do.

But! Something interesting.
SVM on:
CB R20 9800
RandomX 11kh
Bus 98.4

SVM off:
CB R20 11900
RandomX 17kh
Bus 100 rock solid
Plotting Phase1 ~10% faster

No thank you Hypervisor!
