***The Official 5900X \5950X owners thread***

I'm still really considering a 5900X.
When building my current system, I over specced the motherboard in hopes of getting a 12 core CPU at the end of AM4. However, cogs are now turning away saying it would probably be wasted so to go for the 5800X.
It would be pretty much a gaming only machine and would be to last possibly 5+ years. Thoughts?

Got my 5900X last week, not installed it yet since i ran out of thermal paste. Ordered some more but Royal Mail have decided to send it to 3 different parts of the UK

I installed 5800X while I was waiting for my 5900X RMA and temps were noticeable higher. I get 60-62° in R20 with 5900X with D15 cooler, same setup with 5800X was around 78-80°. I prefer a silent system with low rpm fans so much happier now I've got my 5900X back. Just something to consider if you like a quiet system.

I had heard about that due to the single CCX.
I don't think it would concern me too much as I've always got headphones on.
I think I'm more concerned about it going to waste more than anything haha.

Played around a bit today with manual overclocks - just set voltage to 1.3v, didn't care about stability or fine tuning, just wanted to see how high it would go with the goal of complete a cinebench r23 run

managed 4.6ghz all core, 4.7ghz r23 would crash. Gave me a r23 score of 30100

Then tried per ccx clocking and got ccx0 to 4.8ghz and cccx1 still on 4.6ghz - this improved score a bit to 30500

wasn't quite able to improve my single core performance compared to pbo though - really need per core overclocking

Just had a play on my 5900X. Running all core Co at -30, Level 1 LLC with an offset of -0.1. Gives me less than 1.087 running Cinebench R23. No boost override so 4450 under multi core.

Tweaked to Level 5 LLC which dropped the load to 1.075 and multi core boost 4,550. Temp 57'c but under a custom loopm Max Voltage 1.375, Min voltage 0.1 ! according to HWinFo

It’s pretty amazing the number of tweaking options available that seem to work together. Curve Override with an offset. Makes you wonder what other variations work well

i cant even run that **** they better improve it cause it wont even run for me in its current state always spitting out a weird error lol

cant even run diagnostic and most settings are unselectable...

error in log window says :

Operating system does not see CPPC core tags!
CPPC, CBP, Cool & Quiet and Preferred cores should be ENABLED!
Also try reinstalling the chipset driver.

to the best of checking, all options are enabled or auto and latest AMD chipset drivers working
with ryzen master opened all settings are working and detectable so this program is fubar i think... lol

Have you tried the configuration cleaner ?
