Already ran the Ryzen mater and god bronze :(

Thanks for taking time to post that, really appreciate it. I'll have a look this weekend :D
No probs. If you screen shot the cores I'll write the list of numbers for you if you like. It can be a little confusing if it's something you haven't done before as the bios quotes core 0 for 1 so they are all one less if that makes sense.

Just bought a 5900X to replace the 3700X I had. Got the B2 stepping and boosts to 4975 out of the box with no settings changes. No real difference in gaming but really happy regardless, will keep me happy until the second iteration of Zen 4.

I have that saved in a notepad file, very handy when tuning core optimiser stability.

I'm ready to buy a 5900X or maybe a 5950X to replace my 5800X, but will I see a noticeable improvement?
I only use the PC for gaming (mostly 4K) and watching YouTube vids etc.
Or is worth holding off until something newer comes along (presumably something is?).
Swapping out the mb isn't really something I want to do at this point.
My PC spec is in my sig.

Thanks :)

I wouldn't bother, especially at 4K.

Is it worth upgrading my 3900x for a 5900x?

Mainly looking for the extra single core performance for some VR games that aren't very well optimised like flight and driving sims, or ones that are CPU hogs like No Mans Sky.

Would it just be the cpu?

If so if you can sell the 3900x it could be worth it. If you'd be changing motherboard to an X570 I wouldn't bother and just wait for Zen 4.

Have you checked benchmarks in the games you play to see if the gains are worthwhile?
