wow there is one point in it!

Main Test Results
3DMark Score 9822 3DMarks

Let's see if you can hit the 10,000 mark tbh. :) Another 200 more points and that's it. Bit more tweaking I think. ;)

try telling that to my mate who RMA'd his as it wasnt doing anything, that was over 2 weeks ago and they have said nothing so far

Try to keep this thread on-topic... but to answer your question, I've never said anything about EVGA's RMA process, I've had my EVGA card RMA'ed fine but that wasn't with the manufacture so it's irrelevant if I tell your mate or not, it was with the e-tailer I purchased it from and it took 3-5 days. EVGA manufacture some pretty fast cards and I don't dispute that. I don't believe how fast their RMA service is effects the performance of a card? They've only recently deployed a base in Germany, Europe I believe, so all RMA processes are shipped there. And although I haven't had much experience with the European support, I have received support from their customer service in the United States and that was ok. If I was your mate, contact the "European Subsidiary" from this page.

Doubt you can upload the scores to orb yet :)

Nice card, easyrider :)

XFX 7900GT 520/1500

9427 - 570 - 860 - 2600GHZ

9770 - 585 - 866 - 2600GHZ

9846 - 591 - 871 - 2600GHZ

83.90 Drivers that came with card, need to find some drivers for toca 2 as these and the 84.xx have halved my fps, but as you can see the card is working fine

ah yeah hadnt thought about that - although i thought u could publish them anyways just says its not valid?
anywho.... some nice scores coming through. running the benchmark with explorer closed down and the benchmark on high priority will prolly get you 9.8s through the 10k barrier. gl!

Thanks for that Tim - omg, that is one tiny cooler - is it loud at 100% or even normal operations? Tiny = whiney in my book :p.

Anyway, those are indeed the standard 1.4ns chips on there. Somewhat confusing how they reach such high clocks though, because aren't those rated for 1400mhz only? i.e 700mhz. Maybe nV loosened the timings considerably... that's the only way I can see them clocking well. I wonder if the GTX's use 1.1 or 1.2 BC11 or BC12 RAM respectively.

So for anyone thinking that they have reached GTX speeds on the RAM, don't get your hopes up because the GTX I believe uses 1.1ns RAM which will have considerably tighter timings - and I'm not talking small amount.

I've got my eye on a VF900 Smids, it is indeed whiney. Its constant too, doesn't slow down in 2D like 6800GT/7800GT did.

Seriously impressive CoD2 performance though.

yep same here defo getting the vf900
But up to now I am loving this card.

Anyone thinking about getting one get one. :p
just about to fire up cod 2 too. :p

Guys, don't get me started on CoD2 - it looks and runs amazingly well on these top cards. So silky smooth and looks amazing - that is what DoD:Source was supposed to be .

Anyway :p, how hot are your cards running under load? Come on peeps, more info, more info!!! All types of temps, idle, load, idle clocked, idle load...

Unfortunately I am more looking forward to getting a GTX or an X1900 instead. :p How far have you managed to clock it so far?

Very impressed with my card, (XFX 7900gtx), not too impressed with the overclock. Stock clocks are 665, detecting optimal frequencies thingy only bumps it to 683....hardly worth it. Not loaded 3DMark06 so no e-penis number I'm afraid, however, Quake 4 multi is sitting steady at 60fps, 1600x1200, HQ, Ultra quality, triple buffering and LOD clamp on...so I'm happy.

I wouldn't be suprised if you don't see 700mhz on the core.

whats speed your memory at?

Idles at 51/52, my 78gt was 41

What happened to the 2d/3d speeds, my card reads the same in 2d/3d, is this not available on the 79gt

I notice no difference in the 79gt fan noise, in comparison to the 78gt, there is no blast from it during boot.

I tried a load of drivers, tried an new .inf on 81.98 to see if they would work, nope. The 84.20 betas were buggy for me, back to 83.90s. Powerstrip v3.61 is buggy with both sets of drivers, the clocks dont stick at times, a couple runs at stock, it then works alright.

early conclusions

78gt/79gt comparisons, it is shorter in length

When did XFX stop using blue pcb's

The fan reminds me of my xfx 6800, and I don't like it

Need better drivers(whats new)

On games I have tested, higher frame rates cod2, no noticable iq improvement, was not expecting any.

If it had not only cost me a score to upgrade, I would have kept my 78gt, it is faster basically a 78gtx for a fraction of what they were going for, and this one clocks very well, would I advise upgrade from 78gt, if price is right yes

I am a bit surprised at the lack of posts about people who have actually bought this card, maybe it is early yet and some are waiting for price drops

I'm using the beta's 84.20 with no problems got a big boost in 3d mark 05 over the 83.90's

what clocks are you running?

the fan is going in a week anyway ,getting the VF900 I never use stock fans on any gfx card I have anyway.
