Not really, ive still got my E2160 @ 3.6Ghz a 8800GT hopefully arriving tomorrow and £250 cash to put in the bank :D

Ill still be able to play all my games a 95% same speed.

I meant too bad we couldn't see if the score improved with updated drivers..

Can some of you guys run the Crysis SP Demo GPU benchmark please! :)

at the expense of padding this thread out even further, has anyone bought the OcUk branded one? - curious to see some OC on that fella.

Should be no diff to the branded variants because store branded versions are branded ones - the store just calls it their own.

My factory overclocked Zotac for example was sold as "store brand" 8800GT 512MB but the card I got was the Zotac in full retail packing - all my GFX cards I bought from this store have also been store branded and have always ended up being PaliT/Leadtek/Gainward etc.

What settings in game and on the control panel? I cant get anything like that with everything set to High. Is that DX9 or DX10?

sorry - forgot to mention that it was all on medium, and since I'm on vista - I'd expect it to be dx10 (but don't know whether its shown anywhere)

Yeah on medium I get over 40fps at 1680x1050 - I just right cick and select play in dx10 or just single click (defaults to dx10)

There is a visual difference between dx9 medium/high and dx10 medium/high I found.

I'm baffled at some of the 3dmark06 scores you guys are getting, mine is only 9765 with the cheaper BFG 8800gt card from OcUK! I'm running a c2d e6400 clocked to 2.4, 2 gig of ram at 600mhz (can't clock it any further, is this my problem?). My os is xp media centre, could this also be holding me back?

XP should get more points in 06 than vista as it's a dx9 bench.

Your cpu and ram bandwidth would be what is holding you back!

3Dmark 2006 takes CPU score into account so a good cpu really bring the overall score up. Those results you see in the previous few pages were achieved through massively overclocked core/memory/shader, as well as driver tweaking to set all options to performance settings rather than balanced or quality settings.

Ah, that would explain it. In Vista you can run either DX10 or DX9, defaults to DX10. Alt-tab out and its written on the application tap.

i want that EVGA 8800GT SSC.... its only $300 on the U.S :(

I might get one imported.

Then go 9800 when its out. Pointless buying an Ultra now.

Wouldn't be worth it to be honest, current exchange is about $300=£144 add your import tax on there (22.4% = £32.25) then £10 handling costs puts you basically at £200..

And you're screwed if it breaks and you have to return it.

Just thought I'd say it :)

Saw this, water 775/2000/2000

Thats sweet. Mine seems to top out around 750 on the core and 2150 on the memory.

Like I have said previously Nvidia have kept the volts low because of the cooling solution and they didn't want too much competiton from the GT. A volt mod will make this a screamer under water.

I'm happy with 745/2100/1863
