** The Official 8800GT 512/256mb Review/Overclocking Thread **

Hhmm Well, I have it peaking at 88 under load, at stock clocks. Got Riva Setup on it, and fan duties to 100% at 85dg, just waiting for it to go back down to idel speed now (think it can take 5-10 mins according to a guide I read). Idle temp around 67dg.

Well mine is silent all the time dunno about yours, but mine is always silent, 700/1.72/1000 got to 63 in CSS Stress Test.

UT3 it go to around 75.

I have even got my side of me case on now and PC back on the desk.

Ive just reconfigured Riva, under load I'm up to around 88 where I've chosen the fan to go to 100 (after 85) and yes, it sounds like a jet engine, but only when at certain temps, silent when not gaming.
Does anyone know if Riva alters both GPU fans the same when in SLI?
Willhub, I assume you have a better case with better airflow than mine, or perhaps they run warmer in SLI.

Somethings not right. I had my loaded at 93'c and the fan was still silent.

There plenty of gunk under the heatsink. I reckon some AS5 would work wonders to the temps

Ive got my own fan profiles setup in Riva though mate. If I run it with Ntune, it will stay silent at 29% but I'm not happy with the temps.

Anyhoo, I've just made a temporary mod lol. Put an 80mm fan directly in front of the 2 cards and it's shaved about 10dg off the load temp, down to 76-80.
I'll make a more permanent mod by integrating the fan into the case next week.

I want one of these GT :(

I got GTS 640mb dunno if the loss of 128mb is feasible.

But is is my current 3D Mark 06 with clocks 660/2000 169.04 drivers on vista

jesus, i got 10549 with a 320mb GTS, using a lowley e2160...on vista 64.

Cant wait for my gt to come.... ooh that anticipation. :D

Managed to get a stable 729/1803/2006. Doesn't wanna play ball over that in 3DMark06. Ended up with a score of 12801, just a shame I havn't got a Q6600 to go with it. lol

I got a bargin for my setup at that time (last year) . I'm still very pleased with performace thats why I never went C2D.

My system response is better then my mates [email protected] as i have low latency on Ram.

any ways its deffo not feasible for me to get C2D with my CPU@3Ghz (dualcore) unless I go for Quad @3-3.5Ghz
