I had the same issue with an ABIT based on the 650i chipset on installing a 2900Pro.

Eventually fixed by booting into the BIOS with the little card set to SLI, loading BIOS defaults, saving and then restarting. Just clearing the CMOS with the jumper and removing the battery had no effect.

Once it booting in Single card mode it's been rock solid.

Ah should really have posted it in here...ah well :p

Ok, just got back and installed mine, card oozes build quality, nice one Zotac (or should I say Foxconn :p)

I don't know who was saying these things are loud as it's absolutely no different to the 8800GTS so is very quiet.

Mine is the overclocked model, will edit this post after I install Rivatuner to see what the clocks are but below are some pics :)

For £169 it's awesome and my 8800GTS on eBay already has several watchers so I'm expecting a bid war to break loose on the 3rd day.

Cant get any overclock going with ntune on mine so far. Doesnt matter what clocks I put it it just fails. Any one managed to get any other programs working?
 
Just run 3D Mark 06 running 740/2000 with my E6600 @ 3.6

3DMark Score 13,590 3DMarks

SM 2.0 Score 6380 Marks
SM 3.0 Score 5970 Marks
CPU Score 3240 Marks
 
Just looked at the above pic of the new 8800gt on top of the old 8800gts ,, and man what a differance in thickness.
Will the new revised 8800gts be as thick as the old 8800gts ,, or will they be thin like the new 8800gt's

OK : First few results :

3DM05 : 17773

3DM06 : 11002. SM2 5231, SM3/HDR 4810, CPU 2590

UT3 Demo runs very smooth @ 1680x1050 at the max details it will let me select never drops below 60 FPS

Right now some more :

COD4 Demo averages 35FPS @ 1680x1050, with max details it will let me choose and 4xAA ( or AF cant remeber now lol )

HL2 EP2 : 1680x1050, All on high, 16xAF and 8xMSAA averages around 55FPS

Now the Crysis demo is a killer. To get any kind of playable framerates at 1680x1050 i had to turn off AA altogether and set some of the GFX options to medium. Not that suprised since seeing the thread about it being an 8800GTX killer.

Its not noisy either apart from the whoosh when it starts up.

Tested using 169.02 on Vista 32

Just got back from work and have checked my emails. I'll finally have my hands on the very same model tommorrow :).

I'm pretty new to all this and have never installed a gfx card before, i'm a bit nervous about doing so, especially with such an expensive piece of kit. I'll no doubt be on my laptop tomorrow mithering you all to take me through the process step by step!

Also, i've been assured by Asus that the card will work with my P5NSLI, a weaker model than your P5N-E, so i'm a tad concerned given some of the problems you had MeatLoaf.

Am trying to overclock now and get my CPU higher to see what I can get! also new nvidia drivers out so installing them...lol

Hmm, with my cpu at stock (gfx card stock oc) I got 11.5K in 3dmark06 - that's 2k over my stock 8800gts score also with cpu at stock - nice.

Will oc my cpu to my standard 24/7 oc of 2.7ghz and see what I get then :)


New driver score coming up...

Well my came today an XFX 8800 GT but unfortuately I blew my Gigabyte x38 up last night so awaiting a new mobo tomo.

Why did you blow your mobo up? it wasn't intentional i take it:p my mate has the maximus formula se, best mobo ever according to him, has the water cooling on the north bridge as well, sweet board.
