** The Official 8800GT 512/256mb Review/Overclocking Thread **

I swear easyrider gets paid to act like a jerk on this forum lol :)

"Oh look a new piece of hardware, I must have it! , Look at all you noobs with your GTX's!" and so on lol.

Well AFAIK he hustles his old parts away and actually gets a great performance out of what he deals with without paying a million every 6 months, how is that not respectable?

Purely sharing my interest with other forum members.

The GTX is still a wonderful card.

Just not worth buying now.

This is fact nothing more nothing less.

I paid myself 50 quid for getting a GT after selling my GTS for 200.

This just goes towards the new mobo.

It's the way he goes about telling everyone though, As if he is the only one who knows what he's doing lol.

First he had a GTX which he bought for around £500 when it first came out, Then after a while He sold that and bought a GTS 320MB then he found that wasn't enough so he bought the 640MB, Now he's selling that to get the GT.

I mean come on, what do you hope to gain from all that lol. JUst buy the best and be happy with it. No need to try and make yourself popular while putting other people down over computer hardware lol.

There's enough spam in this thread already without you lot veering way off topic, start another thread if you just want to discuss someone's upgrading habits:)

Thats boring though.

I dont game all the time.

So in the months I'm working with editing etc...I sell my card on and use my 7300 GT.:D

Sorry about that :)
Well i'm buying a Zotac card, pre-OC'ed to 660mhz, so it must be cherrypicked, not pre-OC'ed on the memory though, 1800mhz, but i'll probably be able to get that to 2000mhz , as long as i can do that i'm satisfied, any bonus to the core is well, a bonus :)
Will be here thursday :)

Has anyone got a stock (600/1800) card from anywhere and just turned it straight up to OC, OC2, or Superclocked speeds? What did you use to do it and what are the temperature increases?

Its a hobby to some people, i used to be exactly the same, unfortunately i used to mess around so much with my pc that my wife left me, so that kind of knocked that habit on the head :P

I now just buy a card and stick with it, unless theres some exceptional deal, i would have stuck with the 8600GTS i had for another 6 months or so if i hadnt cornered an exceptional deal on the 8800GT.

Well it should be able to go to at least 650/1900, that's almost guaranteed :)

I'm fairly new to this game and there are already some rumblings of discontent from the better half!

Awsome! Im interested in only hitting the OC2 mark and no higher, 650/1900 will be fine as buying a cheaper card and getting OC2 speeds will make me feel better about spending money I dont have.
