*** The Official AirPods {all gens} (and AirPods Pro [and AirPods Pro 2nd generation]) thread ***

Just got mine, and my first impressions are they are superb. I actually purchased a pair of the latest Airpods last week which will now be going back under the 14 day DSR.

These Airpod Pro's are far superior to the normal Airpods. I much prefer the size, they actually fit snugly in my ears now creating a much better seal which helps provide a much better sound.

And, to top it off the ANC is very good, i'm actually really impressed!

Not actually sure what it fixes, but make sure you do the firmware update, just have to leave them in the case, on charge with your phone nearby, after about 20 minutes it should have updated.

Also a nice trick that I haven't seen mentioned is if they are wireless charging if you tap the case it will show the charge light to show you if they are fully charged yet or not.

Mine arrived, they didn't have a huge amount of charge in them but it was enough for a walk so I plugged them into my ears and did the tip fit test.

Then I swapped the inserts to the large ones and tried again. It took a couple of attempts but finally I got a seal.

Went for a walk.

I don't know if I'm expecting too much regarding the ANC but I still hear traffic, I still hear people talking if I'm walking past them. I could hear a dog barking.

Should I just get silence?

When I got into town, I did another tip fit check. Both were saying they weren't fitted properly. I sat on a bench for about ten minutes trying to get them both seated correctly and finally managed it but as soon as I squeezed one to start the music playing, I could feel it had unsealed. Tapping was far easier to work with, this squeezing is a bit odd.

Now I'm home, I'm trying again but the only way I can get the left one to pass the test is by having it like this.

Anyone else having this issue? I'm already seriously thinking about returning them.

I just got mine, I have the WF-MX100 M3 and they are a step above after listening to a few tracks. The connection also is rock solid.
My only complaint is the colour :p

So you're saying the AirPods actually sound better than the Sony's? If that's the case I am a bit tempted to invest in them I love the Sony's but the connection leaves a lot to be desired sometimes. But the ANC on the Sony's is great. In the office I have them at about 25% and I can't hear anyone

Have you tried the smaller tips?

Sound Quality is much cleaner and less muffled, the ANC is as good depending your ear seal.. my ear bore is massive. Yes the connection on the Sony's is what made me want to explore other options. Deffo worth the change

Just a bit annoying I only got these a month or so ago. I may risk it. You can return them
After 14 days I expect

I've had the Sony's since launch and enjoyed them till now, and one MAJOR difference is call quality, Sony ones sounded like you were going through a tunnel filled with Jelly, - This sound crisp and clean.
The sweat and water resistance will be great for the Gym if I ever go..

I make a lot of calls in work and conference into a large amount of calls which my AirPods has no issue with, the water resistance is a big plus as I always go to the gym daily so will pop in store and try these and grab a set if I like them ...

Yeah I used to use my airpods all the time for calls but not so much the Sonys. However I think that's partly down to it taking so long to connect to bluetooth whereas my airpod was connected right away.

Talking myself into this, aren't I

So replacement iPhone and Airpods Pro now setup and I have to say they are brilliant. More comfortable than the WF-1000XM3, sound quality is very close to them, if not better as its not so base heavy. The Outsider by A Perfect Circle sound immense :D Range is ridiculous, I can literally walk round my whole house with my phone left on the desk in my study, which is in the far corner, and they never drop a beat. Looks like I'll be ditching a number of my sets to keep these, might even consider loosing the Over-ears.

Have they implemented multipoint BT connections yet, I have the Jabra elite 65t, and whilst the gen2 had a slightly cleaner detailed SQ, the fact that I could be connected to 2 devices at the sametime eg iPad and phone, made life simpler and easier! Plus the fit was better with the jabras, the pro looks nearly like the very real deal.
