*** The Official AirPods {all gens} (and AirPods Pro [and AirPods Pro 2nd generation]) thread ***

Lost my AirPod Pro charging case when walking the dog this morning, what's my best option for replacement? Direct from Apple is £95, but I see some cheaper options on eBay. Then again it's difficult to know which are actually genuine.

Just got to bite the bullet and get the official one from apple. Why take the chance?

AirPods Pro 2 are out - Or at least, they will be ready for preorder on Friday 9th September.

Rebuilt from the sound up

AirPods Pro (2nd generation) have been re-engineered to deliver up to 2x more Active Noise Cancellation. Adaptive Transparency filters external noise, while Personalised Spatial Audio immerses you in sound. A single charge delivers up to 6 hours of battery life.⁷ And Touch control lets you easily adjust volume with a swipe. The revamped MagSafe Charging Case is a marvel on its own with Precision Finding, built-in speaker and lanyard loop.

Superior audio quality

The upgraded H2 chip powers smarter noise cancellation and three-dimensional sound. Adaptive EQ tunes music to your ears in real time to deliver crisp, clean high notes and deep, rich bass in stunning clarity.

Up to 2x more noise cancellation¹

Active Noise Cancellation now cancels twice as much unwanted noise, so nothing interrupts your listening during a commute and when you need to focus.¹ And Adaptive Transparency reduces and adjusts down the intensity of loud noises at 48,000 times per second, so you can comfortably stay connected to the world around you in any setting.

Personalised listening

A listening experience all your own. Pick from four sizes of flexible silicone ear tips (XS, S, M, L) for an ideal acoustic seal and fit. Personalised Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking tailors the listening experience by precisely placing sound elements in the space around you.º Adaptive EQ tunes music to your ears, so you hear consistently detailed playback, every time.

Expanded battery life

Now you can enjoy up to 6 hours of listening time on a single charge, and up to 30 hours of listening time with the MagSafe Charging Case.ººº And wireless charging is a snap. Simply place the case on an Apple Watch charger or a MagSafe charger.

Redesigned charging case

The re-engineered MagSafe Charging Case includes the U1 chip with Precision Finding, which helps you identify the location of your case. If you’re nearby and they’re tucked away you can play sounds from built-in speakers. A built-in lanyard loop lets you attach your case to a backpack or handbag, so it’s always within reach. The IPX4 sweat- and water-resistant AirPods Pro and MagSafe Charging Case are built to brave the elements.²

More magical than ever

AirPods Pro (2nd generation) deliver an even more effortless experience than the original model. Enhanced Touch control lets you manage playback functions from the stem and adjust volume with a light swipe up or down. Have Siri read your important messages and alerts as they arrive with Announce Notifications.³ Easily share a song or show between any two sets of AirPods with Audio Sharing.⁴ And as always, AirPods Pro magically connect to your iPhone or Apple Watch, and sound moves seamlessly when you switch between your favourite Apple devices.⁵

I’ll be upgrading my current Pros with these. Find My support and the MagSafe charging case are nice upgrades along with the improved ANC.

I could have done with the find case option a month or so back. Luckily I managed to find it but it would have made it so much easier. My mrs wants my current Pro’s so looks like I’ll be getting a set anyway.

I will get them when the battery is trashed on my gen 1. What they should be doing is offering a cheaper way to replace the batteries. That would be the upgrade I most wanted with the pro 2.

I can't be the only person in the world that will completely bypass the Airpods because white only? My beats fit pro work really well, but completely nerfed them by having no wireless charging and a much bigger case!

It’s probably much the same what’s why, the old ones sounded pretty decent for what they are, the new ones probably aren’t going to be worse.

The main problem with £250+ headphones is that £150 headphones sound pretty close these days so it tends to be all the other stuff they focus on as it’s what differentiates the product.
