Have you guys found that the skip 10sec tap of the pad doesnt work very well on the Apple TV 4K ?

I've got an Apple TV 3 and it works great, but on the 4k version it merely shows the 10sec+ icon on the screen but rarely skips forward.. In fact I have 2 x 4K aTVs in the house and they are both the same. It does work some times, but the press needs to be quite hard, and it is intermittent.

Can you have friends and family?
Eg. I have an account, my daughter has an account.

She buys Spiderman
I buy Avatar

Can we both watch each others movies that have been purchased?

You can setup multiple accounts on the Apple TV, just switch over to whatever account you want and watch whatever is on that account. :)

How is the Apple TV 4K box when paired with a non-HDR TV?

Currently I have a 4K TV that doesn't support any type of HDR. I've picked up a few 4K discs and everything just looks washed out, I get better viewing experience out of the standard BluRay that comes packed in.

So my question is. If tonemapping is working good in Apple TV 4K. I might switch to that from discs

Due to the wealth of settings I assume fine as you can select 4k SDR as default then you can set adjust to content to "no" where as for my oled(s) (couldn't help it) I've set it to match, so all menus etc are SDR then it switches to HDR for content that requires it.

That's what I was thinking but didn't know if anybody knew for sure.

:)Ran my Apple TV on my old Panasonic Plasma and worked fine
Interesting, I had a very frustrating afternoon last w/e trying to get my ATV 4K talking to my Panasonic Plasma and generally got no picture. Saw one once but it disappeared after a min or two. Even took the ATV to a 4K telly and told it to output at 1080p without success :(

hmm what model is the TV ? Mine was one of the last ones, not sure if that makes a difference. Gt50 model

Tried forcing 1080p SDR 50hz to to start with? Also I’ve noticed my Apple TV can be a bit fussy with HDMI cables, using the latest spec Amazon Basic one now and seems to of stopped the random green screen I was getting

I'm having some audio issues with my Apple TV, specifically if I use Plex and watch something that's been encoded in DTS-MA or similar. My understanding is that it would be mixed as PCM and sent to my amp but I don't think that's happening as all the audio is coming from the front and it sounds trash if I'm honest.

I picked up a four month old mint condition 32Gb AppleTV 4K today for £90.

This guarantees that the new model will get released within a fortnight.

Yeah, I'm guessing it will be a minor upgrade, e.g. use A12Z, maybe a couple of features, controller update, etc...

I’ve started using Infuse instead of Plex and it’s fixed pretty much every issue I had with the Plex app.
I've just had a quick look and it won't play some content without paying for it. I'd like to know how well it copes with some of the very high bitrate H265 files I have.

Also, I have users set on my Plex account so our watch lists don't get messed up and I can't see how it supports different users.
