Currently have a Series 1 and missed Series 2 due to the lack of new features/design. Not interested in Cellular, especially after seeing the supposed prices EE want to charge, so will just buy a 42mm non-cellular. Tempted by a Nike edition

That's what Im thinking. I really like the cellular model, but I'm on Vodafone. Speaking with vodafone they have no idea if/when they will support it, so do I buy it in the hope they will, or go non-cellular? I suppose the cellular model should still hold its value pretty well if I choose to go that route and Vodafone don't bother....

Impressed with the engineering to get LTE into it and keeping the same dimensions but I'm very happy with my Series 2. I'll probably pickup a few new straps though.

I voted I would get a 3 non-cellular. I really want one, but I might try and pick one up 2nd hand in a few months. Out of everything announced I think the new watch is probably the best thing that made the most sense once they told is the price.

Series 1 should have died and 2 slid down the ladder though....

One thing that no one seems to have mentioned here is that according to the Apple website the watch is 4G/LTE ONLY in the UK. There is no fall back to 3G/UTMS on EE unlike almost every other network it is being launched on. This makes the thing basically pointless if you live outside a city. I live in a small town and while we have 4G as soon as you get outside of the cell tower covering town centre your back to fast 3G. I would really suggest checking your network coverage if your going to use this as a smart fitness tracker and leave your phone at home.

I would have liked to use it when I am out cycling and stuff but there is no 4G when I'm out and about so there is no point as it would need to be tethered to get the online features. It is also very clear the cellular is going to destroy the battery.

An Apple watch should be perfect for me but I dislike the design of it. Like the iPhone I wonder if it will change to be less roundy like the original iPhone at any point.
Is it correct that all Series 3 have a red 'Digital Crown'? Every picture I've seen it is red.

I like having a smart watch, I got a Fenix 3 for the for the activity monitoring and connectivity. Lasts a week easily on a charge, the charging of the Apple Watch wouldn't bother me too much, can charge it in the evening or even during the day. I've heard people say sticking it on to charge for 30-45mins twice a day is enough to keep it powered and keep using it.

S3 non-cellular for me, never got round to getting an S2 last year. Just need to decide on the colour... I suppose silver is a bit more versatile with straps etc than space grey.

Only issue I have...the internals are exactly the same. Argh. I do like the look...but £200 more? That’s my Apple TV!

Just rang my local ee store and they don't know what the data plan cost will be, ee continue to fail to impress :/

Edit - tried another store and they said they have an nda with apple until 8am tomorrow.

I really want to want the S3 Cellular but it's just not quite doing it for me (never mind that I'm not on EE).

I think I'll wait for the S4 and by then hopefully more networks will have caught up, it will have a better battery and the 3G/4G issue that @b0rn2sk8 mentioned might be sorted.

Sounds stupid people would surely want to know the price before buying it.

To be honest I am not sure why it isn't supported. It must be an EE thing...

According to the apple stite the version we are getting supports:
LTE 1/2/5/7/8/18/19/20/26 and UTMS 800, 850, 900, 2100.

EE's network runs on LTE 3, 6 & 20 and UTMS 2100

The Apple site says:
"UMTS not supported. Contact your service provider for more details."

https://www.apple.com/uk/watch/cellular/

It's pretty pointless outside major towns/cities if it doesn't have 3G fall back.

I've got someone to buy my S2 so I will be ordering the S3 tomorrow. I'm still sort of pondering whether to get cellular, I've gone from yes to no and now wavering back towards yes again. The strap choice is easy, the olive sports loop.

Alu? I think I’m going cell. Not for calling, but the odd text in a pinch. Can’t see that hitting battery life too much.
