*** The official Apple Watch Series 9, 10 (and Ultra 2) thread (it has double tap and everything!) ***

Absolutely not, it's exactly what I said, it means you have to look at a case all the time because you're keeping it nice for the next person.

It really doesn't take much to look after something. I've got a few scratches on the glass of my 13PM but the rest is mint. Ever since the first pocket sized phone, my phone has always gone in my left pocket, keys and cash (not that I carry cash any more) go in my right pocket.

I don't know who that screenshot is for, if you trade in with Apple. they don't care about scratches.

Case / no case people will never agree.
What I'm saying (and those screenshots illustrate) that if you put it in a case, it'll be worth more when you sell it, which is why people do it. Apple's trade-in questionnaire does ask if the phone is free of major dents and scratches, so I think they do care, and it does affect the outcome of the apple questionnaire.

You've put a price on carrying the phone caseless, which is fine, because you've put how it looks ahead of how much you'll claw back when you sell it, should accidents happen. Others have hedged their bets by paying for a case and protecting the phone from the scratches that devalue it.

I personally think it's quite naïve that you seem to think accidents don't happen, and car drivers who've been on the road 20 years without an accident will go 21 years without an accident, the same as your phone will remain unharmed if you drop it.

There is a risk you will drop it on a surface that will cause the screen to smash / crack / scratch, no matter how small that risk, and others manage that risk with a case. I can't see how you find that bonkers. It's perfectly rational in my eyes, just as it is rational to have a caseless phone and have that risk but be happy caseless because you prefer it.

AppleCare+ is my case.

A case is the price of a case, protects from scratches and dents.
AppleCare+ doesn't cover minor scratches and damage that doesn't affect the operation of the phone, and has an initial cost + excess to be paid when you use it.

... and that's fine. I understand why you got it. I can also understand why people have a case. They aren't mutually exclusive. :)

Owned my Ultra 2 since release and it's got a few marks on it - funny enough I got a slight scratch on it in the first week and kinda took the band aid off so to speak and now try and use the watch as was intended. It's never off me and it's survived a fair few scrapes in the gym!

I’ve ordered a S10 Titanium in Gold. Should come tomorrow. I’ve ordered a 42mm version, my wrist circumference is just short of 6”.

Think I’ve made the right choice as I would probably find the 46mm a little too big. Anyone done similar?

You’ve made a good choice. There are far too many people with watches that hang over the edge of their wrist and look somewhat silly.

Thank you Feek. I did a lot of research on Reddit posts, and thought it was better to get a small one.

My first Apple Watch and I’m rather excited.

I just read an article on how the new Vitals features can predict if you're going to be sick days in advance.

This is not news!

Ever since they introduced the wrist temperature monitoring a few years back, I can count 4 times where a material spike in overnight wrist temperature happened BEFORE I started feeling very unwell. In fact, those are the only times the temperature has spiked beyond the normal range... so pretty accurate predictor!

My Series 7 doesnt have wrist temp sensors, this isn't enough for me to upgrade yet though, will see what comes next..

Yeah definitely a nice to have but of limited practical use because you're unlikely going to cancel plans in advance because your smart watch says you might be ill in 2 days :D

What are people finding the Ultra 2 battery life like. I went from a Series 8 and at the end of each day I was at about 30% Ultra is at about 50%.
Two days, easy. The limited charging goes up to 80% and when I put it on charge after two days, it's generally down between 15%-20%. When it charges to 100%, I can get three days out of it.

Currently on an original Watch SE. It works fine but now no longer gets any updates... considering a Series 9 or 10. Worth the jump to the 10?

EDIT: Just to say I do practically bugger-all exercise or walk tracking etc. This is purely just an update.

What's your activity like? I do more than 20k pretty much every day so it's getting plenty of use. I use it with Golfshot and it drains the battery (did on my 8 too)

Low these days but on our recent holiday, I did loads of walking and the life was pretty much the same.
It's definitely gotten better since the last update. Currently been on my wrist 13 hours and I've done 24k steps and an hour football and its down to 73% which I suppose isn't bad at all.
