I cant pretend to understand the formula but I get the principle thanks for that link very interesting!

It's far far easier to imagine it working given the explanation of how it works than try to understand the formula :p

Of course this doesn't help if you don't have an active and spacial imagination I guess!

They are 10x50s so nothing too heavy.

There seems to be a lot of love flying around on the net for the 8115.

Thanks chaps! That was taken with the following:

Skymax 127mm
2.5x APO barlow
HEQ5 mount
toUcam 740k with IR blocker
Astronomik L filter for Luminance and combined with RGB data

The effective focal length of that combination was 3750mm

Nice set up! Looking at getting a HEQ5 for the 1100D when I can, but pricey though, might just have to settle with an EQ5 in the end. We'll see.
