*** The official Asus ROG Swift PG348Q 34" ultra-wide thread ***

Has anybody else preordered this from OCUK and is still waiting for it to come into stock? I've been waiting a while now (6 weeks) and I'm wondering if anybody else is in the same boat as me.

Stock has finally come in today and mine has been shipped!!, only took 3 months you might what to check where you order is in the queue (i was 2nd) however as when I spoke to CS yesterday it was indicated they were not expecting enough stock in to fore fill the current orders they have.

Cheers for the reply! I'm 11th in the queue at the moment, I think I'm going to cancel my order though as I don't really want to wait another couple of months for it.

I'm really not sure why people didn't just go with the acer, you could have been enjoying it for the last few months as well as saving yourself a bit of money :p

Got my PG348Q yesterday, first thing to say is that I dont think anything can prepare you for just how big this is and how wide. Pictures do not do it justice and you cant tell the scale.

The stand is awesome, its actually gorgeous and im not one for hardware porn but this really is lovely, and built like a tank. Didnt think I'd like the ROG light, but at brightness level 1 its actually quite nice, adds a little atmosphere when playing in the dark.

I've checked for dead pixels and found nothing, still havent looked for bleed yet as ive been playing games on this beast of a monitor, but havent noticed any when doing gaming even in dark scenes which has given me a chance for a quick look.

First time ive owned a curved monitor, its still as crap as I remember when demo'ing them, but I can live with it.

I was really ready to buy this monitor. To which I was unhappy with paying the price in the first place.

But an extra £100 increase is a joke.

I am really losing so much respect for ASUS with their extortionate ROG Tax.

Yea, I've been trying to talk myself into it since it was released but this new price tag is impossible to justify. :(

Does anyone know how far away the front of the screen would be from the wall if the rear leg of the stand is right up against the wall ??

As my desk is only 60cm from front to rear..

I got one of these delivered Monday after about 5 weeks on pre order.

Its nice, but I'm troubled... how much backlight bleed in corners is acceptable? It's not looking yellow but on black backgrounds is definitely there.

I dunno - I don't think I'd mind very much ordinarily, but given the immense cost, you'd want things to be as top notch as possible, right?

What's to happen if anyone needs to RMA one of these monitors? There seems to be no stock anywhere, so would a replacement be possible?

Can't comment how the formal RMA procedure will happen, but sent back two elsewhere to another retailer and each time they found the fault, I got in line for one of the new ones coming in on the next batch. Thankfully each time it happened did not have to wait too long.

Initially the retailer offered the X34, I imagine if stock is out for too long that may happen.

What issue did you have with your 2???

I v briefly considered RMAing mine owing to the lil bleed in the corners but honestly, I don't even notice it when gaming. And since I cleaned it one day, rubbing down the corners, I think it got better!

Sometimes I think we find faults with expensive things because we want them to be "perfect", given they are expensive. /shrugs... modern days woes that come with being well informed and having nice, expensive toys!

On Asus website site it says the screen vertical height is only 323mm high (Without stand)
https://www.asus.com/uk/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-SWIFT-PG348Q/specifications/
Dimensions

Phys. Dimension with Stand(WxHxD): 829 x 558 x 297 mm
Phys. Dimension without Stand(WxHxD): 829 x 323 x 109 mm(For VESA Wall Mount)
Box Dimension (WxHxD): 320 x 508 x 942 mm

The vertical height on my 27" 1440p swift screen is 360mm high (340mm screen alone not including the bezels)

So this 34" widescreen vertical height is much less then a 27" 1440p monitor

So surely this would make the Text size small

Sorry missed your post. Had loads and I mean loads of coil whine. just eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee all the time. Bleed etc not too bothered about as I have had quiet few of these LG panels so knew what to expect. But the whine while just browsing the web when the PC was running silent was just annoying.
