***The Official ATI Radeon HD 5850 / 5870 Reviews and Discussion Thread***

Apparently Rivatuner can too.

Just found this.

"According to ASUS, its Radeon HD 5870 can have its voltage raised from 1,15V to 1,35V, resulting in a GPU clock speed bump from 850MHz to 1,035MHz and a rise in memory speed from 4,800MHz to 5,200MHz. That's essentially the fastest single-GPU graphics card made faster, and we reckon those figures may give an indication of Radeon HD 5890 performance"

but i think that is only possible using the asus voltage tweak software? maybe thats wh ocuk have them priced 10 quid higher.

Apparently it this part number -ASUS EAH5870/2DIS/1GD5- that clock well.

I think thats just the generic part number for all asus 5870's, I think we can be pretty sure that all cards whether it be xfx/sapphire/asus etc... all have equal chance of clocking well.

I prefer the ASUS minimal styling, hate those tacky kiddy stickers all over them.
Although I'm not gonna be sitting looking at it..

I've just been looking at an old (not really old) techpower benchmark test which included the 4890 PCS+ which is factory OC. The games tested were the same as the ones tested in the link at the start of this thread.

If you compare that to the 5850 bench it's always within 5-15fps of it, except an occasion where the 5850 comes miles ahead and another where the OC 4890 comes out on top.

Comparing those two the choice of spending 45 quid extra is hard to make.

Stock 5870 -EAH5870/G/2DIS/1GD5-

EAH5870/2DIS/1GD5 Is the modded card by the looks of things.

Ive just come across some details of a republic of gamer 5870.

its not a modded card, all current cards have equal chance of overclocking high.
as said meny times before.

if the software is there like the 4890s to overclock the GPU volage and memory voltage then the clocks will fly high.
