Both times your score seemed to go up going from 4xAA to 8xAA... thats rather odd, unless I am reading something incorrectly.

good stuff ehh

I sat quietly waiting for someone to pick that up, I assume the benchmark thinks nobody would seriously ever want to run 8Xaa in Crysis.....or could just be the game does for some reason not support it !

Some very strange results there, 28FPS with 4XAA but 37 FPS with 16XAA?????? thats insane!!

Seems to be defaulting back to 2xAA. Must be broken - Crysis that is. Well, I guess that goes without saying :)

Could you do me a favour - don't know if you have the full game and perhaps a save on the first ice level, but if so, would you load it up with 1680x1050 all high with 4xAA and tell me what FPS you are getting, more or less?

Aye I thought that too, but was getting similar results before I installed the hotfix and played around with the drivers. Really not sure what's going on with Crapsis and ATI hardware tbh :p

Interestingly, ignoring the anomalies that are 4x and 8xQ AA, there is literally no hit from 2x->16x.

They come with a better Cooler than that Standard !
Simple little Mod for the time being would be connect the 4 pin cable to with a homemade adapter to a motherboard fan header or direct to the power with a resistor or Fan controller, until full fan control is available through the bios

Not knocking Your efforts for 1 minute.....but would say You should have trimmed down that Ram sink ;)

Bottom line is as long as Your happy :)

Well I've just ordered a 4870 for 179 with delivery :)

Going from an 8800GTX, so not expecting to be blown away but it should be a nice increase as I've just got a 24" monitor as well

Just swapped my heavily overclocked 8800GT for a 4870, initial results below (4870 at stock at the moment)

World in conflict (very high@1920x1200 av/min/max)
8800GT 21/10/41
4870 41/23/78

Vantage
8800GT p5545 h3492 x2143
4870 p7992 h5341 x3593

The ATI auto tune sets it to 780/1090 so I'll post again with o/c results later

780/1090 crashed in vantage, trying a more conservative 780/1050 gets me P8249

3dmark06 gets me 10083 at 1920x1200 4xAA, 16xAF
