Can you try Crysis @ 1280x1024 all High DX9 32bit, and at 1680x1050
Would like to see how your's compare to mine on the P35
Is it bandwidth limited in anyway?
For example, do you get 100%+ performance increase in xfire over one card in COD4 at verh high res/aa?
Or pick any other game in the Tweaktown review which showed a difference between the p45 and x38 boards as some games didn't or hardly showed any difference.
My Crossfire'd 4850's now seem happy enough at 675core 1100mem with a pair of Vortexx Neo's installed. Anything higher on the core and I get constant driver restarts. Plus everything is fine as long as I dont try and printscreen a screengrab, if I do that the machine hard locks.
At least I have not seen the GPU temp rise above 59c since installing the non-useless coolers.

I asked Many times before getting My p5Q and satisfied myself there was a next to nothing performance Hit over the X48, now I would not like to say 2 super clocked 4870's would not be pushing the bandwith as I don't know !
what I can tell You is I put 2 3870's in the P45 and they picked up 3000 points in 3d2006 over a 2x8 pcix ver1 board
Your more likley to be Cpu limited before the 8x8 (16x16 old pciex money) bandwidth
Also You got that wrong, the higher the res/aa etc the lower the bandwidth requirements....unless I got that wrong ( xfire in 3d3006 gets not much less using 1600x1200 over default)

Hmmm, you actually get slower than I do with a P35...

1 card = 35.03fps
xfire = 41.35fps
@ 4x AA
xfire = 25.14
What CPU speed you at? mine were done at 3.5Ghz
Well I don't think 3dmark06 shows up differences that well. Tweaktown showed no difference in performance between x48 and p45 boards. Lets face it, 3dmark06 is now cpulimited, not gpu limited nowadays.
And the higher the res/aa, the higher the bandwidth required I believe???? Unless I have got that wrong as well??????
I must admit Tweaktown showed hardly any difference up to 1680 x 1050 res, it was only 1920 x 1200 and above which started and showed the difference in performance between the p45 and x48.
So even of they were right, you will not notice anything at 1680 x 1050.
So where are all the people with xfire 4850's and 4870's running 1920 x 1200 + res on p45 boards to finally put my mind at ease.
If Tweaktown proven wrong I will gladly buy a p45 board tomorrow. If they are right I am stuck with spending more on a x38/48 board which I don't want to have to do really unless absolutely necessary.
I was in the same boat m8, but in the end I decided to just plump the extra £25 over a P5Q-Pro and bought a DFI DK X38-T2R, at £111 they are a steal and are cheaper than the high end P45 boards while giving the full 16x PCI-E 2.0 bandwidth.

What sorta clocks can you get with standard coolers then aftermarket ones, really cant make my mind up if spending £32 on some coolers is worthwhile, I can see they drop the temps but does it help you overclock anymore?
What swung it for me, and the reason I still Use a X975 board is the running temps on the X38/48 end off ! But I would say from What I have seen the Gigabyte P45 has issues compared to the Asus, I still have a P965-6quad and its a fussy bugger not like the DS3/4's
Also I game at 1920x1200..forgot to mention
