If they would just make a token gesture change....remove the one liners at the end of the round....

At least that would be an acknowledgement that they know they need to fix stuff and are starting.

Also if they could add Arica harbour into the main game that would be awesome.

This would be one of the easiest wins for them. I don't know anyone who likes the cutscene intros, the stupid catchphrases at the end. It flies in the face of the whole world they tried to build up during the lead up to the game. Honestly though, I just don't think they really care. I love the Battlefield franchise, and it frustrates me greatly that they don't seem to have a clue what they're doing with this one. I honestly don't think it can be fixed. After I'm through with my latest BFV phase, I'll just reinstall BF4 again for my modern combat fix.

I’m getting a crash during loading with a DXGI Device Hung error; played 181 hours without issue and suddenly start getting this error. I reinstalled the game, checked GPU drivers, underclocked GPU, clean install of Windows 11, installed BF2042 again, tried launching directly, via Origin and via EA App but nothing works.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Any chance you can try it on Windows 10?

One of my friends who I play with upgraded to Windows 11 and has had similar issues across multiple games (Warzone, 2042, BF1) but since going back to 10 has been fine.

Thanks, that’s useful to know. I’m going to try the following:
1) a much older Radeon driver
2) The 6600XT card from my sons PC (ironically his game works - ROG Strix MB, Ryzen 7 5800X, RX 6600 XT, Win11)!!!!!
3) then I’ll give windows 10 a try. (Now I know I can simply move the existing BF2042 install files to another drive it will avoid the wait to download again and the download will simply validate the files I have).

I also tried renaming the dxgi.dll file from the syswow64 folder but then the loading made less progress and then just closed before the point the crash would normally appear.
 
People still moaning about this... I agree that is a bit of a cut down experience that lacks the scope and scale of earlier games but get a life

A BIT of a cut down experience? :cry: Get a clue ffs, the games haemorrhageing players left and right, new content has been delayed by months, there's tons of fixes needed and no real time frame for them to filter through. Battlefield 1 somehow has more weapons by default than this "modern shooter".

But yeah, how dare people be ****** off they spent money on an unfinished turd that has no clue wtf it's trying to be, a premium price unfinished free to play wannabe that has maps with the gameplay depth of a drop of water.
 
There are certainly some over dramatic souls around this thread. If you don't like the game or agree with the direction it's gone in, just don't play it or look at anything related to it.

I still don't understand how people can be so aggressively negative and critical of a game - and then continue to read threads, posts and articles about that game.

Genuine question, how much playtime do you have on 2042?

About 20 hours total, and probably half of that was playing the server join roundabout where it says its connecting then kicks you back to the lobby where you have to attempt to join again
