*** The Official Battlefield 2042 thread***

Ahh. Tbh I tr d to mainly play as the guy that can deploy the big mini gun. I notice the performance has got better, but still not on par with previous games imo.
Crawford is a lot of fun to play!

It's definitely worth having a few different specialists in your locker so you know how they play and can swap to them depending on the circumstances of the game.

Rao is definitely worth playing if there's lots of vehicle control by the other team. Falck is the best from the medic / support options, Angel is a bit useless now they've removed his ability to apply armour to himself or others on revives and Crawford is fun, but I find Falck's med pen more useful than Crawford's mini gun.

Mackay is always worth playing because grappling hooks in games = fun.

Irish is great for Breakthrough because of his trophy system, you basically mitigate the grenade spam, and you make Sundance's grenades completely useless.

Performance for me is fine on 64p modes, it's the 128p ones where I notice it struggles more - although I'm still comfortably above 100fps with aa 3070 and 5800x at 1440p. On the 64p modes it's more regularly in the 120-140 region.

I am interested in the settings you use as I am on a 3070ti, 5600x and I struggle between 70/80fps

Used to be well over 100 but went down hill when season one came out.

2042 is a bit of a fiend with CPU’S, I play with a friend who has a 3080 and 5600x and he gets less frames than me with my 5800x.

I’m playing with everything set to low, no DLSS or anything. I’ll grab a screenshot of my settings later and update this post but it’s really just low on everything to keep frames as high as I can. I think also I have reflex + boost enabled too.

@Matty8787

Yeah, I'm using the low preset:

and then I have Nvidia low latency as enabled

I'll grab a few screenshots from 128p and 64p games to show some average frames.

128 conquest on renewal, floated between 125 fps in big moments to 155

64p breakthrough - actually seemed lower because more players in a condensed area of the map. settled more consistently around the 135 mark though, dropping to 120 and peaking at 160.

I actually think Exodus conquest would give the best fps - considering it's 64 players and conquest seems to be much better with handling pacing and frames.

I'd have thought you would get higher, I've got a e700x and a gtx 1080 and I get 60fps. Although thinking about it, that's on medium  .

Played this last night with a mate for the first time since the beta ( i think) and actually enjoyed it.
One thing im struggling with aside from hitting people is getting my mouse sensitivty to feel right. Seems something is amiss betweeen hipfire and ADS but i cant get the sweet spot. Anyone else have trouble to begin with before it clicked or you changed something ????

Yes, even doing specific actions there's a delay as if the game can't be bothered. :(

Battlefield Twitter keeps sharing cheaters, and it's **** Battlefield 2042 (LVL S499)

Guy is using Aimbot+Silent Aim

Neil, you seem to think everyone is cheating - both on MW/Warzone and on 2042 now.

This person isn't cheating, he's using the laser sight on the SWS-10 which quite literally makes the bullet go exactly where the laser is.

Some people are very good at video games, this guy is already level S500 in 2042 so he clearly plays a lot.

Problem is there are so many people cheating across Battlefield and Warzone it's very difficult now to pick out an incredible player to a cheater! I blame the companies and the streamers that have been caught cheating to blame :(

Totally agree, and some people are very good at hiding it (the whole foot pedal toggle from Warzone was a serious issue) which doesn't make it any easier for those who aren't cheating - but there are some genuinely good players out there that get caught up in this.

I'm sure that there were people who would have thought Shroud was cheating watching his PUBG gameplay when that game first launched.

It's very easy to jump to conclusions and call someone a cheater without proof - ultimately some people just play 15 hours a day on some games so it'd be a disaster if they weren't any good at these games.

Just to put this into perspective, in the last month I've played Warzone, every week I've been told that atleast three people I've reported as cheating were banned. Not sure who it was as it doesn't say, just the company thanking me for the report and said person was banned. So I'm obviously doing something right ;)

Yeah, I’m not saying there aren’t people cheating. I’m saying that we shouldn’t immediately leap to that when on occasion it might just be that the individual is just good at the game.

Been playing fps games for years and while i sometimes suspected someone of cheating it was never really 100%.
Got 2 games in a row with someone aimbotting, ever kill was a headshot. One using a sniper rifle and the other a p90! The p90 across the map lethal!
Both games ruined by one ****. Hope this isnt the start of an avalanche of cheats

As someone who hated this on release i must say the game is transformed now, atleast when you play the correct mode.
Conquest exodus i believe its called? 32v32 on really nice maps some of the old school ones.
Its the closest to a modern BF4 its has ever been.
I still hate the specialists and a few more things but overall a much improved game a year on.

32v32 is also very good with hit registers!

An awful freeze crash has appeared since the latest mode has been put in the game..

I can play for a good few rounds without issues, whereas loading the game up another time and it's

Loading a map - Game freeze
Parachuting down - Game freeze
Aiming gun - Game freeze

Each time the game has to be force quit through processes, while the rest of the computer is working fine which includes any other games/discord/web browsing etc

When games do that I reckon it's just an automated and timed message to make you think that reporting makes a difference. in reality I bet nothing happens,

100% is. I get constant notifications when firing up Warzone and I haven't made a report for at least a year.
