*** The Official Battlefield 2042 thread***

Managed to get a few rounds in on the new map last night. Very good indeed. I feel it could be a bit wider? Feels a little overcrowded with 128 players. Still fun though.
Amused me how the other players in chat were referring to the 2 square buildings as the Ikea warehouses :D

With the game not telling you if anyone has been banned, or EA/DICE saying they've done any bans.. Probably not
The game does tell you if people have been banned. I can count on one hand the amount of people I've come across cheating in 2042 (here before @Gerard says he can count on one hand the amount of people who play 2042...) but the one time I did report someone I got the below 'Gameplay Integrity' notification about someone being banned.

The below was also shared on Reddit during the last ban wave - so there for sure are people being banned!

With Season 3's release we've made changes to improve game performance on PC.

While we're generally seeing a positive increase in performance, some of you have reported a high CPU load.

Our team is working on a fix and we’ll keep you updated on our progress.

#Battlefield2042 S3 Performance issues on PC thread: System i7-9700k, 3080ti FE, 64GB Ram. In S1 and into 2 I had to run in 4k to stop CPU bottlenecking, was at 100% and causing issues. Running in 4k balanced it out but at the cost of FPS, best was about 80fps

I think I did notice slightly higher CPU usage than before last night. 60-75% overall on my 12-700k but no cores maxed out. I'm probably GPU bound though (2070Super@1080p)

Yup, 108 hours played now and not one instance (that I could see). Unlike BF1 and BF5 lately where it's actually very rare to get a clean game lately. If DICE could at least split the cheaters between the teams it would be something as they plainly don't give a toss about banning them.

Is it worth buying this game now even if I've no intention of paying for a season pass? I just noticed it's on offer for €19 from steam and epic
I'd say yeah. If you're an old school BF player then don't expect this to play like the BF you remember.
Even though it's probably the worst of the BF games that doesn't mean it's not fun.

I started on 1942 and have played them all. I'm still playing BFV and BF1 so may give this one a shot.

Anyone get a black screen at the end of a round? I keep getting this and then have to force stop in task manager and then restart. Bit of a pain. The game has been running reasonably well on my machine with a mix of low and medium settings.

Yes black screen at map end here, bad update imho.
Map is just your usual generic BS from Dice another mediocre at best to add to the growing list.
Performance on the new map is terrible for me.

Same for me. BF has definitely lost its ability to immerse me and lose track of time, but since I got it so cheap, I thought, why not.

Regarding performance, I have vsync on and my monitor's max refresh rate is 60, so the game is playable around the 60fps mark and looks pretty good. I can live with that. Can't begin to think of upgrading any components atm.
