*** The Official Battlefield 2042 thread***

As a predominantly PS5 player I hope PC can't match up consoles or atleast have the ability to turn it off. It spoilt warzone with all the cheating.

Sad but true... you're limiting your player-base by not having cross play.

Nothing is confirmed yet so it is just "internet rumours" at the mo. Most of my mates have moved to PCs this last year so it would be sad to lose playing with the last couple of console players. I'd say any big MP FPS title should have crossplay by default.
 
I assume crossplay is going to happen. What's the situation with aim assist - did console players have it in the previous BF games? Because that will be necessary.

I've seen some very good players using controller in CoD. I read a rumour that aim assist worked better with higher framerates and due to that the most effective method was controller on PC.
 
Nah I don't believe for a second that controller is better on PC in an FPS than mouse.

Aim assist or not mouse is by far the superior choice for accuracy and recoil control.

Yeah but when you simply aim down sights and the game auto locks onto someone and follows them for you, all you have to do is press LT then RT over and over... depends on the level of aim assist I guess, I know GTA/RDR and COD have crazy aim assist where the game is basically playing itself.
 
Frankly, I was ecstatic when they confirmed there was "no BR mode" in 2042. Don't get me wrong, I love me a BR, play a lot of Apex. But Battlefield and BR do not mix. Really happy to see what looks like a real return to form.
 
I can't wait 2042. I loved 3 & 4 and while 1 & 5 were technically decent I just got bored of the WW1/2 setting and weapons pretty quickly but that's just down to personal preference methinks.
 
while I can see the plus points of adding console players yes but with no aim assist

some sort of anti cheat is really needed

not true firestorm played really well and was massive amounts of fun and the engine is far far better so with the right team

but got stagnant fast due to no map change and being linked to changes in the main game which nerfed all the weapons

so it was more down to being a bolted on side event
 
there is the new mode but not looked into it

been playing battlefield 4 this week was free on the rainforest I skipped this one so it makes a change

lots of little bugs like getting stuck on small rocks

was tracking someone least night was he was running in the ground as well

Indeed it does. Battlefield has never been about anything like BR, so I’m happy they’re trying to make something new. Certainly higher risk than just making a BR mode, but the payoff could be huge.

I totally agree the engine is far superior for BR and they could have made the best one if they put proper effort on it.

Huge missed opportunity.
