Ohh, I'm liking the look of that. I was expecting some blurry mess compared to the PC version, but there's not really a big difference in it.

Really? I've been blown away by the PC footage, that PS3 clip though doesn't look massively different from the likes of COD which have already been released

Not saying it looks bad just nothing special

On this page it says "the Physical Warfare Pack also includes the Battlefield 3 Back to Karkand digital expansion pack"

http://www.battlefield.com/uk/battl...mited-edition-physical-warfare-pack-available

The way I understand it is:

Pre-order from Game or Gamestation = Physical Warfare Pack & free Back to Karkand DLC when it's released.

Pre-order from anywhere else = free Back to Karkand DLC when it's released.

If you don't pre-order at all then the Physical Warfare pack becomes available for free at a later date whereas Back to Karkand is a DLC pack that you have to pay for if you don't pre-order.

personally, i think that buy the time you're sat 6 foot away in your lounge on the big TV, i don't think the difference will be all that annoying.

If you're going to use your Xbox 360 with your monitor, and sit a few inches from it, then yeah its probably going to look really poor.

But thats not what owning a console is about. If your going to use it with a monitor sat at a desk, you may as well just have a PC if you can afford one.

If the graphics are even just a polished version of MoH I'd be happy, that wasn't an ugly game in the slightest and I'd be more than pleased with that. As long as they are acceptable and they don't detract from the gameplay then I couldn't care less.

Bad Company 2 looked amazing for the gameplay it provided so I'm absolutely not worried at all.

The PS3 version was superior to the 360 version so I'm not surprised at all that BF3 is the same.

Did the PS3 version have screen tearing?

Noticed it a few times in SP, but never on MP.

There's a few differences, but the PS3 version to me is pretty damn similar to the PC. Much better than I expected anyway.

You should probably read the article again, or own both versions like I did.
Both versions ran at the same framerates, but the 360 looked worse because it used dithering for foliage which makes up a fair amount of the game.

My point is, there's a good reason they showed off the PS3 version of BF3, because they are already very familiar with it and it's evidenced by their BC2 stuff.

Yes I did read it water and shadows look better on the 360 version along with a slight edge in FPS and less screen tear.

And as it says "but what we do know from the firm's brilliant archive of presentations is that the ethos of the engine development focuses on PS3 as the primary platform. Get it right there, and rolling out cross-platform ensures the highest-quality result."

Watched the footage and also watched this for those interested: http://gamingbolt.com/battlefield-3-ps3-vs-pc-hd-video-comparison the comparison shows there isn't a huge difference just the lower resolution doesn't bring out the improvements well. As they have already said it is pre-alpha footage and will look better over time.

Why would you post that pathetic little postage-stamp sized comparison? Oh right, it's to try to minimise the inferiority of the version you'll be playing.

Having looked at properly proportioned videos of both, the PC version massacres it. Humiliates it even. Textures, lighting, post-processing effects, framerate, it's a total walkover in every regard. Those who disagree merely prove themselves unworthy of the gift of eyesight.

BF3 PS3 looks good for a console game. It does not look good whenas compared to the PC product of the same name.

THIS POST DOES NOT INCLUDE PC! The PC should NEVER be compared to consoles, period... Different ball game entirely.

I was always under the impression that the 360 is where BC2 was best at home.

And from all comparison screenies I have seen, I must prefer the colours and darks/lights on the 360, have for most multi platform games to be honest.

I will be getting it on the 360 without question as to be honest, BC2 still looks immense in my eyes and I am sure DICE will not stop until they squeeze every last bit of power from both platforms.

Good job DICE :)

Who even said that the console versions were anywhere near PC quality? Way to state the obvious.

Thing us, most of us posting on here will be posting from a PC or mac that can play games,

Yes we own consoles, but we could in theory spec up the machines we're posting on to play this game on PC.

And that presents us with an interesting dilemma, is the PC version that much better to justify upgrading our PCs. The answer, when sat 6 foot away from your TV, would appear to be no. BF3 is going to be one of the best titles of this generation by the looks of it.

With this beong on EA's new Origin this i'm really tempted to get this for the PS3. Will EA have the retarded crap they've put in with UFC so if I buy 2nd hand i'll have to buy a code to play it?

Repi, one of the developers of BF3 has confirmed that on the PS3 it runs at an incredible 1280x704 with MLAA. Yep, that means no jaggies!

So not only do you have all that destructability but it runs at a higher resolution than 99% of other shooters and with anti-aliasing on top.

Going to be amazing. The guys at DICE are geniuses.
