Why would you post that pathetic little postage-stamp sized comparison? Oh right, it's to try to minimise the inferiority of the version you'll be playing.

Having looked at properly proportioned videos of both, the PC version massacres it. Humiliates it even. Textures, lighting, post-processing effects, framerate, it's a total walkover in every regard. Those who disagree merely prove themselves unworthy of the gift of eyesight.

BF3 PS3 looks good for a console game. It does not look good whenas compared to the PC product of the same name.

a) Because I saw it posted on another forum and I hadn't seen any others, so more lack of options than choosing that comparison.

b) I never tried to minimise anything, there is definately a difference, but not a huge difference, not enough to make me not want the game.

c) You child.

Repi, one of the developers of BF3 has confirmed that on the PS3 it runs at an incredible 1280x704 with MLAA. Yep, that means no jaggies!

So not only do you have all that destructability but it runs at a higher resolution than 99% of other shooters and with anti-aliasing on top.

Going to be amazing. The guys at DICE are geniuses.

Is PS3 the console to get this on then? I was going to get it on 360 but would easily reconsider that...

Depends if you're planning on playing MP with this game. I'll be getting it for the 360 due to the fact most of my friends will be getting it as well.
I really want to see the 360 version in action. I can't see it being much different to the PS3. I expect PC games to look miles better than console games but there's no reason why either console should have a vastly superior game.

Would be nice if the PS3 is going to run as suggested. Dilemma for me is, do i get it on PS3, or save some pennies upgrade my PC and get it on that. If it's anything like BF2 then I will certainly get my moneys worth out of the game including PC upgrade.

If you game on ps3 most of the time get it on ps3 .

The PS3 is the lead console platform.

Speaks volumes that every time DICE have demo'd a console version of the game, its been on PS3.

Same applies to me, if it does run/look better on the PS3 then I'll just have to do without MP as would prefer the best (console) SP experience

How many times have they demoed it on a console though? Once so far isn't it? Has there been any confirmation that the PS3 is the lead console platform?

The difference between the two consoles will be minimal at worst. Even looking at the BFBC2 video you can see the differences if you look hard enough but there's nothing to make you not buy the game.

it was the only version they brought to E3.

thing is though, is that consoles are used most in a living room, or maybe a home cinema room.

Generally anywhere other than a desk. So sat that far away its not that noticeable.

oh i agree, but i really am horrible at FPS without a mouse. its like trying to speak chinese to me. i cant even controll portals haha, though any other type of game i prefer with my ps3 and 360. also i havent upgraded my PC in 3 years, still rocking a 4870 and Q6600, so this is my excuse

Anyone else slightly worried about all this graphics talk? I couldnt care if it it looks the same as bc2, if the gameplay is battlefield im sold. I really hope EA do not comprimise on any gameplay aspects for graphics just to please the cod crowd.

As for those comparing ps3 and 360, Im getting it on whatewver console my friends who play best have it (360), I wouldnt trade slightly better AA or lighting for playing with randoms.

Did you see the video ? i did and im not worried one bit as it looks amazing for a ps3 game.

getting more excited all the time

While the Pc footage is tempting me for my first major Pc upgrade/built. I'll be honest unless the xbox version really sucks (which I doubt because bc2 was amazing) the con lose advantages out weigh the slighty worse graphics and lower player count servers.

I would like to build a new Pc though..... Tempting.......

Reason why im building a PC too. Mainly for this game and Skyrim.

You keep saying this but its rubbish, I have my pc connected to my hd tv and 3 monitors. I also have the ps3 and 360. The pc has a much much much better image at distance and is a gen ahead looking close up. I shall be getting this on pc and console though due to the fact most of my friends have consoles also dice have confirmed its running at 30fps max.

No jaggies? MLAA is horrible, its a poor mans proper AA and just looks wishy washy, better with jaggies really! or if your a 360 owner and it doesnt have MLAA just grab some vaseline and smear it across your screen. Also it runs at 30fps on console and "other shooters" ie modern warfare runs at 60fps. So as nice as it looks you aint half being biased

From OXM:-

Battlefield 3 multiplayer details are now as prevalent as falling buildings in Bad Company 2, thanks to an E3 demo. We've got a two page preview lurking in issue 75, on sale 7th July, but that's like, over a fortnight away. Here are 10 gobbets of mission-crucial data in advance.

1. The Medic and Assault classes have merged

When you're primarily responsible for giving and receiving the pain, it makes sense for you to carry a few sticking plasters. Battlefield's Assault class now has the ability to drop medipacks and zap downed players with the defibrillator. Will catastrophic class imbalance result? The jury's out.

2. Say hello to the Support class

Absent from Bad Company 2, the Support class has been rounded out with a new bipod attachment that allows you to steady your aim when prone or up against cover.

3. Vehicles take regional damage

You can now target the treads or turrets on tanks, APCs and the like, for a more calculating take on anti-vehicular warfare. On the flipside, this gives drivers more options when they're up against it. If you lose mobility, you might be able to fend off attackers with the mounted gun till help arrives.

4. Suppression mechanic rewards you for missing

Time was, you had to hit stuff (or complete objectives) to climb the old class progression ladder. In Battlefield 3, forcing another player to keep his or her head down will produce a steady stream of experience points. It's a welcome shot in the arm for teamplay.

5. Stealth-killed players drop personalised dogtags

Players can now tailor their own dogtags. Duff another trooper on the sly, and you'll be able to appreciate the fruits of his handiwork.

6. Snipers need to hold their breath

Sniping is no longer a walk in the park, or even a crouch in the long grass. You'll need to hold a button to clench your lungs for optimum accuracy.

7. Engineers get flashlights

If the idea of punishing foes with the wrath of dispersing photons seems ludicrous, you clearly haven't faced an engineer packing an underslung flashlight in a subway corridor. The beam is more than powerful enough to scupper the victim's aim.

8. Operation Metro mixes subways with parks

Split into four distinct regions reportedly large enough to function as maps in themselves, Paris-based Operation Metro is the one Battlefield 3 map covered in detail so far (save for those stuffed into the Back to Karkand DLC pack). It sounds like a hoot. You've got broad green parklands with merry-go-rounds and slides, and gloomy, ambush-friendly subway tunnels. New regions are unlocked by airstrike after you've captured the requisite M-COM stations in Rush mode.

9. Weapons have three attachment slots

We're not sure whether this applies to the Xbox 360 version, but PC users will get three attachment slots per gun. Just imagine what you could add. We're crossing our fingers for chainsaw bayonets.

10. The LAV-25 is an anti-infantry powerhouse

Operation Metro also introduced us to the LAV-25, a heavy-duty armoured vehicle equipped with a gun and night vision. We'd prefer a tank, but this'll do nicely.
