*** The Official Battlefield 5 thread***

That was a fun night, ended up in a server with 2 hackers, one by the name of stormus08 and the other trashbird69. Both of them were standing at A on rotterdam and killing anything that moved on every other flag, if you spawned in a tank it got instantly destroyed before you could even move it. According to the enemy team our team was constantly highlighted on the minimap as well. Fun times =/

Honestly, I think people are moaning way to much and making the game seem a LOT worse than it actually is, imo its MUCH better than bf1, only thing that might be a tad better on bf1 is maybe a few of the maps.

For me this is really fun gameplay wise, takes a bit of skill and it looks good too, yes there may be the odd bug but I must be lucky as ive hardly encountered any at all lol

If anything i think they have stripped out a lot of the skill requirement from the games, it may have been added to the infi weapons vs Bf1 but it has been stripped out of the vehicles. From my experience weapon / vehicle unlocks are more important than skill. Guns like the Turner SMLE go from absolute crap to god level gun with a few unlocks. The same is true with vehicles, especially the planes. A fully upgraded fighter can out turn, out shoot and out repair a stock one. The amount that pilot skill matters is minimal.

And then we have the catch up mechanic... the ultimate game breaking bug. All it does is punish good teams. At least the behemoth in BF1 offered a change in game play and a bit of a different challenge to either take it down or use it to do something. Yes it was far from ideal, but i will take it any day of the catch up mechanic in BFV.

The maps will come in time. The game has basically just launched. It's a bit under backed at the moment but we will get lots of map packs over the course of 2019.

I wouldn't be too hopeful, Battlefront 2 has only has 2 new maps since it released over a year ago. If we get maybe half a dozen new maps over the next year i will be impressed.

I really hope they dont give up on this game, they finally make a modern WW2 game with so much potential for great locations and battles, would be a shame to miss out on all that. im really hoping to see the russians, japanese and americans and all the other countries that could be explored in this game.

Gunplay - lovely (don't care about what symthic **** or whatever the nerd stat site is called say regarding guns or any wannabe pro youtubers, gunplay is great, not bf 4 good but a damn sight better than bf 1). Infy play would be so much better if you didn't have that retarded lying back prone, dolphin diving etc. **** too, the new cheese tactic of BF......
Vehicles - ****
Maps - **** on the whole
Catch up Mechanic - worst ******* crutch ever, give me behemoths over this **** any day of the week, heck even give me elites over that crap
Content - ****, actually worse than bf 1...... And a bit annoying how we haven't really got many new guns, a lot of them we had in bf 1

Game badly needs some good new maps now.

I wouldn't count on it. We may get some new maps, one for each of Russia, Italy, Normandy, Berlin and maybe the Ardennes Forest. However, they will be hoping to fund this, and pick up some of the outstanding cost of production by selling cosmetic items. Given that the games a failed to meet sales expectations and thus has a much smaller player base than predicted they won't be able to sell the amount of stuff they need to fund continued development of new maps, items and factions. If the Battle Royal mode doesn't attract in large number of players then i can't see there being much content added beyond around March when the existing content roadmap ends.

give me elites over that crap

I never really got the dislike over elites. I don't get how it is much different from having a LAV or Helicopter spawn at a flag. Once you figure out how to combat them they are no better, or worse than a vehicle.

One positive point about this game....no damage sponge horses like BF1. Could you picture how much of a PITA they would be against the tanks in this game if they had the same weaponry from BF1? Something like a Tiger or a Churchill would be a sitting duck due to sluggish maneuverability and the virtually non existent splash damage.

Yeah, I've found a couple since Xmas too, think there must be a new hack out. Check these guys out.

If you were to post that on the official forums it would be removed for "name and shame", like its not obvious whats going on in the video and more proof is needed.

Pathetic really.

I had a strange bug last night, sniper hiding in a bush, given away by the scope. Not very far away, started shooting at him with the gewehr 43, a full clip into him yet not a single hit marker. It was like the bush was a shield protecting him. Another full round and still no hit marker. Finally went up behind him and stabbed him

Pulley proof bushes are around a lot. They are also made of steel as tanks bounce off them. Vineyard on Arras is a prime example.

My current thoughts on the game are it's a bit ****
This is not an exhaustive list but..

Pros:
Looks nice
Gun mechanics (recoil, spread etc) are fine

Cons:
Lack of maps (I think we're going to get 3 more this year if we're lucky)
The lack of server rental program
Visibility (Unless you cheat like marbleduck and use roblox mode)
Squads are too small which is exacerbated if one of your squad mates takes a vehicle
Autobalancer ruins almost every game (Which encourages players to play for KD not win/loss)
Aimbots are back
Getting shot while in a forced animation
Seemingly endless reasons to not play for your team but play for an achievement
Medics are redundant with squad revive and health crates, then the cherry on the top is their guns are ****
Assault weapons are better then any one else's
Lack of information as to the fact you're about to die until you die
Spawning at base when half your team spawned near a flag
Revive mechanic takes too long
Conquest assault mode is rubbish (as it was in bf1)
Reloaded guns not reloaded
Battle royale mode is coming
Joining on friends/platoon is still buggy
Vehicles are sitting ducks unless you like farming from spawn
Real time flag information lags so much, you look away for one second to engage an enemy and all of your "uncontested" flags are now taken.
Flinching means that when someone clips you, you stop and become easy meat.
No camos adjust to the map environment so you have to play a mini game of getting dressed in the 30s before each round.
Invisible walls which block shots and cover which isn't cover
Terrain you get stuck on, and slopes you slip down as soon as you shoot.
Not seeing downed squad mates on the map until you've run to another piece of cover making it a dangerous journey to get back
No proper CTE (Hey we'll just inflict a change on you and see how many of you squeal)
Server browser is rubbish (The way the server instances are spun up/down means you'll be lucky to find a server with more than 2 slots which doesn't already have a full queue or is about to be shut down)
Game stats and those exposed to BF tracker are lacking
Gunplay is balanced for 1v1s, if you win a fight you're probably about to get one shotted by a random noob.
META is to lie on your back pretending to be dead and then shoot every who can't see you as they run past.
Rank cap is hit too quickly
Audio queues are poor in comparison to bf1 (or bf4 night maps)

100% spot on this post.

I don't see RTX in the Pro or Con list Haz? After you've spent that much on the card and BFV I'd expect it to make the list...

I have to agree with everything on that list. But I will also add having the V1/JB2, which is what all squad leaders are trying to aim for with such high points it generally becomes a rush to use them in the last ten minutes which usually means not actually being able to use them as there's a dozen different squad leaders all trying to call one in at once.

Money well spent on your PC then Haz???? Surely with RTX you should be getting information overload with all those reflections of the enemy players???? :D ;) :p

Have to agree though.........

Shame as there is so much potential but as per usual, a few retarded decisions from EA/DICE always ends up ruining their games somewhat.

I enjoy BF 5 but I have to go in to it with a casual mindset and forget about the issues and just enjoy the banter etc. of playing with friends, much like what I had to do with bf 1 as well.

Hopefully given how awful BF 5 has sold and the huge back lash it's received especially with the comments + attitude of of "don't like it, don't buy it", we will see see EA/DICE on full damage control now and implement the changes that us veterans/true BF players want to see and not cater for the COD/lone wolves, which is what they were originally doing.......

Tempted to reinstall bf 4 and even 3 tbh, they seem to be very lively again with the failure of bf 5.

And then 50% of the time you get that annoying black bar across half the screen making it impossible to call one in at all

I did just that earlier , all 68 gigs of expansions .
Only played for an hour on Golmud and the game play is so much more fun, people actually PTFO instead of pilling up sand bags

Not tried it thanks to ASUS and their lack of BIOS support for the Rampage V edition 10, can't install the latest windows. ASUS really dropped the ball there for what was supposed to be their premier overclocking board. Upgrade to RS5 and you lose the ability to overclock. Not that fussed though as I never bought the GPU for it's RTX features.

bf1 was actually a fantastic game in the end.
