*** The Official Battlefield 5 thread***

Amazing. Few bugs though, revive system broke, unable to revive when you're not medic, squad system seems borked also. But gunplay incredibly satisfying though, new map is super sexy. Performance is amazing for BETA, around 120fps 1440p mix of high and ultra.

can't wait til tomorrow. i was thinking i would have to get a 1080ti to play this at 1440, but maybe a vega would do it - or if anything else comes along from AMD. Have you tried it in DX12 Tony? my 3930k isn't going to have the punch of your 8700k, but in dx12 it might not matter

Even squad mates? (You can't revive non squad team mates unless you are a medic).

Apparently squads were broken but have now been fixed.

Had one game, anything remotely in close seems to be a spray and prayathon, ttk is stupidly fast so reacting after a hit is virtually impossible (its basically hardcore mode by default). People are able to hide in shadowed areas making them really hard to see, just visibility overall seems to be an issue with people at range looking blurred and indistinct from the background. For all the moaning people did about 3d spotting if this and that other turd of a map Narvik are anything to go by i hope it makes a return, otherwise camping is going to dominate this game.

Nope not using DX12, It was always horrible in the past so not even tried it. Vega 64 seems to be performing excellently, although I've got a beefy overclock on it as it's under water (1750/1100) and yeah 8700k at 5ghz will be helping out a lot.

I can't even join a squad, just says private all the time. They aren't fixed on mine, might restart game. Absolutely loving this though boys, I genuinely am.

I have to admit I preferred the longer TTK in the second alpha over the short TTK in the first. My understanding is the beta would be a half way house but apparently not. In the second alpha you did have enough time to react to being hit either by returning fire (and beating your opponent on accuracy) or if you couldn't immediately locate them diving into cover. I'm not sure I want to see the return of 3d spotting as it was a joke in bf1, but maybe being able to spot players and they show up on the minimap would be a good compromise (although DICE explicitly said they don't want us to play the HUD, so I'm not really sure why the minimap is there)

That's a shame to hear - really hope they do something to increase the TTK after beta feedback...

I'm fine with the way the ttk is, this game is no longer a careless run and gun game. Feels so much more tactical, scanning surroundings and moving on.

ATM its just get hit and die (if they're shooting at you with an stg), other weapons take a little longer but it does on the whole seem more often than not if you get shot once death is right behind it.

Honestly feels like i'm playing a COD game with the way it is currently. Was on a 64 player server and the rotterdam map feels very empty.....mainly due to the fact virtually every other ******** seems to be camped up in a building with a sniper rifle. Seen one tank rolling around and that was it.

And for your viewing pleasure, i present "Tank Turret Rotation".

And in first person mode every stop and go = 1 full left to right of my mouse pad.
