Since we won’t see any action for many months, how about fantasy fight predictions?

Sugar Ray Leonard vs Oscar De La Hoya

Leonard late stoppage. For me he's a level above Oscar, but Oscar was tough so I wouldn't completely rule our a Leonard decision.

How about Toney vs GGG?

Like em both but Toney too slick for me

Oh, now that is a fight. I think Toney would have to stop him, but easier said than done. Pfff I think I’d have to go with Golovkin late stoppage or points.

Toney vs GGG would be a quality fight. Leaning slightly towards GGG as i havent watch as much of Toney, but it would be one of GGG's toughest fights, probably the toughest

I’d give Leonard the edge but Oscar is a real tough fight.

Tyson in 3 minutes or less. Either hand, head or body.
It's all about opinions and no doubt Oscar was good but you don't beat Hagler, Hearns, Benitez and Duran and not beat Oscar.

Now Mayweather vs Leonard would interest me. Tough to call that one.

As for Toney vs GGG again tough one but Toney would have too much and Roy Jones prime destroys them all as he did Toney.

It’s hard to say with Toney. In terms of talent and ability no question he was one of the greats.

I have Sugar Ray against everyone, especially if we are talking peak for peak. Now SRL vs Money Mayweather would be a good fight. I think he'd suss out FMJ but I have learnt to never bet against Floyd.

My turn. Mike Tyson vs Wilder?

Tyson bobs and weaves to close in the distance and sends Wilder to the shadow realm.

Missed this post. I'm not sure which version of Floyd I would want to see. Pretty Boy Floyd or Money May. Somehow he was two different fighters.

A fantasy fight I'd like is to see Ward vs Froch again. Just to watch Andre humiliate Froch

But he was beat quite convincingly by Roy Jones Jr in his first proper test. Again good fighter maybe very good but you need to dominate your era to be considered special, which he didn't.

Glad you agree especially on Wilder :).

Doesn't matter with Floyd the fact that he did it both ways is a feat in itself and he rightly deserves to be considered amongst the best in any era.

Now I happen to like Froch but it seems i'm in a minority. Forget personality for a second, he may have been limited in terms of boxing skill but to get to where he did deserves respect imo. Calzaghe beats him though and probably Ward too.

Oh definitely. Froch was limited no doubt, in fact he occasionally looked amateurish if I'm honest, but he had a hell of a chin and could brawl with the best. To get to the level he did demands respect. And he never ducked anyone.

Leonard vs Mayweather

For me it comes down to Leonard needing to make mistakes and I don’t think that would happen. I think Leonard would frustrate Money Maywather and very likely drop Pretty Boy.

Would be a chess match no doubt. I'd say you could make an argument for both. Leonard was a bit before my time and Mayweather was just a master boxer who could do it all.

Naseem Hamed vs Pacquiao? At their peaks in the same weight class obviously.

I'm sure most would say an easy Pac win but it is nowhere near as cut and dry as that imo. Hamed really is a weird case, we've got to the point where he is generally really underrated now. I do think Manny would stop him, but I think Nas could easily drop him a few times.

So many great fights Nas should have had!

Completely agree. He had special talent only let down by his lack of application. Nasemm Hamed was the fighter that got me into boxing as a young kid, he was almost mythological and was freak in nature with his power to frame ratio, similar in a way to Tommy Hearns.

Hard to call that one though as I would have a tendency to be biased toward Hamed.

He did duck GGG tbf, but hes a warrior no doubt

I always remember his fight against Jermaine Taylor. Taylor was impressing the world, Froch went to his backyard, got outclassed for most of the fight, was down on the scorecards, but still found the guts and determination to pull out an almost rocky-esque finish near the final bell. Just brilliant!
