Ade raises a decent argument on thr 112-112 card and in hindsight it's not quite as outregous as it first seems. A few of us in here were mentioning the Chirs wasn't necessarily doing enough during the rounds.

I still think CBS won and it was a close (and seriously ugly) fight. I wont put myself through watching it again though. No thanks!

Frank on the PR campaign trail again lol it’s so predictable now it’s laughable.
I presume you refer to the latest Fury offer to fight AJ?
Gareth A Davies suggested that they have run out of opponents to get Fury out ahead of an Usyk fight in Saudi at the end of the year. Zhang was rumoured but now Joyce has triggered the rematch, he's out of action now. Sense was that Fury can't credibly be given any more gimmes and needs a test that the public can engage with after all his latest PR nonsense. He also said that AJ was all but on for a summer fight with White ahead of the Wilder fight at year end. Dubois to get his shot at Usyk.

It's all ******** really and I've lost interest in the heavyweight division. The British domestic scene is more interesting

He’ll use the Aj offer as an excuse to justify another soft touch aka the Chisora situation. It’s like Groundhog Day again.

They are just using AJs name as Fury has done throughout AJ’s career. Fury has become a cancer for the hw division.

I love that people are now starting to see Fury for the fraud that he is. Shouts about top names but will end up fighting another Schwartz or Pienetta. I'm just glad people are wising up to his antics.

If he is desperate for a big name there are plenty of options. If he wants Zhang then I'm sure with the backing Zhang has they can pay Joyce step aside money and I'm sure that would be a huge fight in China.

Or what he could do is pick a credible opponent for once...

Just looking at the WBC top 20... Obviously not all names will be free but look at some of the match ups he could have if he actually took his reign as a champion seriously.

Ruiz
Sanchez
Makhmudov
Bakole
Anderson
Ajagba

But he's busy sizing up the cruiserweight champion Opetia and McKean (Who AJ got criticised for wanting to fight as his come back fight after two back to back losses.)

He is a clown.

Look how dejected Gareth is in this interview and he is normally Fury’s chief nut hugger. The top comment says it all. “You know it’s bad when Gareth is sick of Tyson”.

I hope AJ fobs him off and continues with his own career plan of a summer and winter fight.
Fury has mugged off the division for too long now. It's about time the drug cheat stopped feigning mental health and got held to account.

Fury needs to stop ducking the 'blown up middleweight' and fight him. Everyone can see he is ducking him.

Bakole would be the easiest fight in World for Fury to make, he’s absolutely desperate for a big fight, as would some of the other you listed.

I’m not buying that he can’t get a fight, I think he doesn’t want a tough fight. He wants the easiest fight he can get away with and he’s trying to con the public again into accepting it.

Course he doesn't want a tough fight. Credit where credit is due he did beat Wilder but that's all he can say he's done since beating Wladamir 7 or 8 years ago.
I really want the WBC to force him to fight Usyk, proper mandatory or strip him

Then I remember the WBC is the same organisation who have done numerous scummy things over the years and it's why they're called We Be Crooks. Suliman has zero morals though.

I’m surprised the WBC haven’t made him franchise champ already. The belts are meaningless at this point.

We know who’s who and we just want to see them fight. Let the next generation battle it out for the belts.

Yep. As @Calpol said. I'm sort of over the heavyweight division at the moment. They say when the heavyweight division does well, boxing does well. Bit far from the truth at the moment. The lower weights are giving great fights and now we've had Spence vs Crawford confirmed, the heavyweights can vanish for all I care.

There’s problems all throughout boxing unfortunately. Hw is just more visible and talked about in this country due to Fury and AJ and a couple others.

Heavyweight boxing feels like such a letdown at the moment,

I remember when you had people like Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson, Holyfield etc were having lots of fights, each of those fighters had around 45-50 pro fights in their careers, with half of them being world title fights.

Nowadays we have Fury with his 33 fights, half of them against bums - claiming he's the best, AJ with 28 fights and Usyk with 20.

It just feels like today's lot aren't having enough fights, they're spending more time screwing around than actually fighting..

Yep. Inactivity is holding the division up. Lucky to get 2 fights a year meanwhile you have someone like Canelo who gets our 3-4 times. It's not enough.

At least AJ had a string of championship fights and Usyk as soon as he got up to heavyweight. After a few fights getting used to the weight he wasn't messing around. Fury is the issue and to a less extent Wilder buy that was a few years back now. After they tried to freeze AJ out

Here we go Tyson no longer needs to search for a fight, a highly ranked credible opponent has kindly offered to fight him. No more excuses needed.

Say you’re playing matchmaker for Tyson Fury, and you look at the rankings. Imagine ‘AJ’ fights Dillian Whyte then Wilder and Usyk fights Dubois. I’ll tell you if he wants, he can fight Filip Hrgovic.

If he’s looking for an opponent, he can have the Filip Hrgovic fight. Tyson Fury is smart, he doesn’t want a risky fight.

Hrgovic is mandatory for the IBF, but Tyson will say “I’m not fighting him, nobody’s heard of Hrgovic!” But there will always be a line.”

Hrgovic stock has taken a little bit of a nose dive since he lost that Zhang fight (I don't care if he won it officially. He lost that fight) but I suppose you could argue the way Zhang dealt with Joyce made Filip look a bit better.

Would be one of Furys best wins to be honest. He wont take it. Get ready for the John McDetmott trilogy rematch. 1-1 so far.

It’ll be the highest ranked opponent he’s fought for a long time and one the few top 10 heavyweights on his resume.

So in 34 fights he’s fought 2 guys ranked in the top 10.

Vladimir Klitsckho

Deontay Wilder.

That’s it.

To be fair, Whyte was the WBC mandatory so I'd include him in the top 10 too.

But the fact of the matter is since that one night in Dusseldorf 8 years ago he hasn't done enough. Of course he has done enough for his bank balance but anyone who would try and argue that he is a ATG heavyweight is a proper mug.
