with how hurt he was acting had it been called a knock down even if he had got up he would've still been in pain and with only a 10 second count, not 5 minutes, it could've played out differently

To me, it's borderline. I've seen lower punches such as Ward vs Kovalev or even the heavyweight fight on the ESPN card of the same night. I do believe if this wasn't essentially Usyk's home fight with the President of Ukraine a different referee would've rulled that a knock down.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter as he lost every single round but that is the beauty of the heavyweight division. A single punch can change the course of the fight. Which is what should've happened. Dubois will never be able to beat Usyk on points so his only chance was to stop him. I wont begrudge him or his team for feeling like they've been robbed.

When I saw it and with no proper understanding of the actual rules, I didn't think it was low. I know there's a bit of a split in opinion from ex boxers etc but as far as I've seen or read, nobody that said it was a legal shot has really backed it up with any substance where as those that claim it was a low blow have provided explanations supported by rules to back up their view.

Regardless of whether it was or wasn't, I don't think you can say for certain that Dubois would have gone on to win. I think Usyk milked it to give himself as much time as possible to fully recover and had the ref started counting he'd have got up and we've seen him ride out periods of pressure when he's been caught before.

Annoyingly after watching this interview I thought a lot more of Eubank. Seems like a decent guy just playing up to a certain persona to sell tickets.

Interesting that he has chosen now to "soften" his heel role. There is another similar interview on another channel. Not sure what his thinking is as previously he has played up the to the bad boy image. Anyone who had Chris Eubank snr as his father was going to have a few issues to deal with. I don't mind him but as a boxer I do think he has had a charmed existence with few credible wins in what is quite a long career. UD wins vs a shot Degale, an aging Arthur Abraham and losses to Groves and BJS kind of tells you his level. Dunno who wins on Saturday. Smith is probably under rated but even he has a relatively weak record. No real love for either so just hope its a good scrap.

I like Eubank Jr but that's cause I realised he is just playing a role. If you didn't crack up to the line "I'm just a guy in a KFC jacket trying to earn a living" he delivered in a dead pan way, I don't know what to say. Outside of the ring he is top tier entertainment. But he is a nice guy really. After the Smith fight the next day he had uploaded a photo of him playing with his late brothers child. He's just a regular-ish guy who talks himself up a bit too much. Doesn't help his Dad was calling him the new Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Despite that. Smith will win again.

Edit: to be fair to him. Spike O'Sullivan was a good win and he did deal with Yildrim better than Canelo did.

I dont know why his Dad calling him new Meyweather but this is abowe his potencial:)

Think I'll be rooting for Jr. Could make for a nice trilogy if he wins a close fight. I think he'll change his style back to what it was, if he doesn't then it's hard to see him winning.

Honestly thought he'd retired already, a good lad but it seemed like the damage was catching up to him in recent times.

'Big Fraze' has never convinced me he's going anywhere, should be banging the likes of Dave Allen out early, if he can't do that he should pack it in.

Bit harsh, he's had 7 pro fights and matching him has been troublesome. 2/3 more wins and we could see him in with Joyce maybe. Allen on the other hand looks well past it.

Having said that he's allowed himself to be dragged down to Allen's level of constant holding and spoiling. Not a great spectacle
