*** The Official Boxing Thread ***Do Not Discuss Illegal Streams

i tried to post image in here but it wont post lol. but you can replay do it yourself. its a low blow. sad thing is he quit. which is sad. just gave up as he knew usyk was too good for him. it was literally same shot aj got on him. also funny thing is fury told aj to do it. dubois just copied that. still lost. fury would not make that mistake though so usyk would lose to fury .

So ignoring the legal/illegal blow, where does this leave Dubois?

He's come up short against Joyce, due to a lack of defence and head movement, and he's now come up short against a Cruiserweight who KO'd him with a jab.

Obviously got the power to KO static objects but he's now got a questionable chin to go along with the non existent defence and head movement.

Door work?

Bellew hasn't had any criticism of him since he got sparked out by him tbh

The still images aren't really the best way to look at this, you kind of need to see the punch in motion. It's hard to tell whether it was more on the south side or not given where his shorts were and the trajectory of the punch. It seems to start making contact with the shorts lower down (could class it as a low blow from here?), but the full force of the punch lands a little higher, more towards the belt line, Usyk's shorts were higher up during the fight than in the Bellew post, they covered his belly button.

I'm a bit torn, I do wonder what the situation would have been if the referee started counting instead? Would he have tried getting up straight away rather than protest? No doubt the controversy would still be there though if he didn't make it up/through the rest of the round.

I think for Dubois he's pretty much finding his level at this point, he has enough that the more elite fighters of the division need to still worry about him in terms of things like power, but they know that ultimately he can be outclassed at this point in his career and seemingly broken/put away. Time is a little more on his side at the moment, he's still got a chance to develop a bit further and after the likes of Usyk, Fury, AJ and wilder are gone, he might fare more favourably. He needs to be managed well though and fight decent opposition, a skid of losses now with the eye/knee or ankle damage he has and you would really have to question where it's all going.

He has the physical attributes but mentally I’m not sure he is in it. From knowing a distant connection to the Dubois family I get the impression his dad is the reason he is doing it and not because he loves the game. Caroline is more of a fighter than he is mentally

the rules are below navel belly button is a low blow. simple he lost. people dont know the rules.

lol

Even if you argue navel/belt line discrepancy that shots not below the navel. Where’s your belly button?

As for Bellew, what’s the point in posting a photo of his belly button showing at the end of the fight, what, his shorts can’t move during the fight? Fighters/corners are forever pulling their shorts up.

It leaves him fighting him again. There’s no way this doesn’t get re-run. Now I’m not sure if that’s low or not, all the stills show it at the highest point of contact but regardless it’s not like he was caught on the cup. Usyk Doesn’t strike me as the type who will want this blotting the fight or his integrity. This will get remade.

It has shown how fragile Usyk is again to the body.

If they fought 10 times Usyk would win 9 of them. Dubois 1 chance at a win was last night.

Have the rematch to get the ambiguity out the way but it does just kick the Fury/Usyk fight even further down the road.

It’ll get rerun, which probably isn’t good for Dubois.
no rematch clause. also he would still lose. next he will probably fight fury early next year on aj vs wilder card which they are trying to make. also with how dubios just quit at the end i dont think hed want to fight him again. showed his character to.

He got to a world championship fight, better than most boxer ever dare to dream of.

Boxers almost never win all fights and sail off into the sunset, Usyk will have his loss day if he keeps fighting heavyweights.

Dubois is a decent heavyweight but he has stepped up twice in his career and lost both.

Him V AJ would be an interesting fight actually, not sure it would be the easy night many would think for Joshua especially this gun shy version of Joshua we get now.
