Thanks for the previous well wishes and hope you all had a good Christmas.

Day of reckoning was a bit of an eyebrow raiser but enjoyed catching up on the event.

Looking forward to the main event now. Inoue and Crawford are 1a and 1b on the pound of pound list and I feel like second is quite far away. This should be a good fight.

Good fight this. Tapales ain't lying down. He's really grown into this. Can't see him winning but he has made it a contest. Inoue looks classy in almost everything he does. Suspect he's get hit more than his corner would like.

He's taken pound for pound #1 from Crawford and is my fighter of the year. He is special. If he wanted to, and cared, if he started speaking English and fought in the West he would be huge.

No doubt he is in a class of his own but there-in may lie the problem. It's hard to see who challenges him at that weight and without some big challengers it's hard to see how he becomes the star his ability perhaps warrants. Could he move up to feather? That's quite a fragmented division and even Eddie Hearn doesn't seem to fancy getting Wood to unify vs domestic matches or re-matches. I have to confess as to not knowing so much about the lower weight divisions.

Agree he is the p4p No1 and a class act..

And the gap between them and Usyk in 3rd is bonkers. I don’t really pay too much attention to the lower weights but when someone is as exciting as Inoue it’s hard to ignore him.

When I first heard about him he was still smashing out university at the same time as training and being a world champion. Just different gravy

He is a stark contrast compared to the degenerate boxers we have here in the west!

I watched the Inoue fight, the first of his that I've seen, having heard that he's the best fighter around. I didn't see much of a defence from him and his opponent wasn't doing much to avoid the punches. He's clearly very sharp offensively.

His opponent this time did just decide to stay in front of him and defend with his face..

Though his past opponent, Fulton, was much more defensively sound and Inoue still finds a way through.

Sort of want to go back to the day of reckoning and post my thoughts on the card now my head is a bit clearer but I fear I'd end up writing a novella about it all but I can't resist the temptation so I'll keep each one to a sentence

AJ vs Wallin: Expected result but not the expected performance. Think he should stick with Ben Davidson but have to give DJ some credit for the improved footwork recently.

Wilder vs Parker: I said this could be an upset but I'm not massively shocked. Both times Wilder has fought someone with a pulse he has lost. One of the most overrated HW fighters. (this is not a new take from me. You can check my posts in this thread for years before he fought Fury. I've always said he was awful)

Miller vs Dubois: I'm actually really proud of Dubois. He certainly proved me wrong and I forget he is only 26. Hopefully he builds on from this.

Opetia vs Zorro: Jai is just a bad, bad man. Zorro must have cajones the size of beachballs to get in the ring with someone he was so outmatched with. KO of the night.

Bivol vs Arthur: Lyndon spoiled the fight and just tried to survive. Bivol should've pushed for a finish in round 8 but solid performance. I'd watch him box oranges tbh.

Kabayel vs Makhmudov: Upset of the night for me. I thought it would be a one sided beat down but Kabayel surprised me. Makes me wonder why he has just sat as EBU champ for so long.

Hrgovich vs De Mori: Erm... what was the point in this? Should've fought someone with a pulse.

Ohara Davis is out this week for a vacant title against Borroso and then Callum Smith vs Beterbiev the following week, that should be good!

Hoping 2024 builds on what was a decent year for boxing

AJ vs Ngannou and Wilder vs Zhang? Really?
Just have to laugh at boxing some times. I can't think of another 'sport' that takes the fans for a ride like this  As someone who buys most PPVs just for ease of convenience I'll probably inflate my dinghy for this.
Zhang would retire Wilder for good!

Parker couldn’t knock the skin off a rice pudding in heavyweight terms and had him rocked.

Zhang would be all sorts of wrong for Wilder! Big southpaw lump who can box and hit hard. Nightmare match up for him

I'd love to see it :D
