The fight was always a cynical money grab and this latest news does nothing to redeem it. I confess to having a "rubber neck" curiosity as to how it played out but this probably settles me on not retaining any further interest. Legality aside if Hearn had any decency he'd call this off. However I suspect greed will prevail.

I don't get how they say its not performance enhancing? If taken by a young healthy male it can increase free test significantly - it's banned for a reason..

It’s possible either way it doesn’t look good for him especially after the way he was reacting to Eubank trolling. I’m gutted as I wanted to watch the fight but such is life. Heard a bloke on the radio say it’s cost him 2 grand for tickets and a hotel. I feel for him.
But this will be insured a guess so nothing to worry about.

So where is the B sample? Why has it not been tested? He should get a ban now for being a dirty drug cheat, simple as that.

Their image is better than in the Don King days but these promoters really are vultures. They were so desperate to put on a fight between a weight drained and dehydrated fighter vs one that's potentially been on the juice that they're threatening the board with legal action for pulling the fight.
I’ve flip flopped over this since yesterday and I’m still not sure where I stand with it. Yes he’s tested positive on a sample but that was back in August and every other test has come back negative. Both parties including the BBBofC have known about this for a while and were fine with the fight going ahead. Apparently it’s only because it got made public that the board pulled support and according to Sauerland the medical specialist and determined that Conner wouldn’t have gained any advantage at all.

It’s a such a shame but it has been handled very badly by all concerned. Something will need to be changed off the back of this for sure.

I'm not sure how long the board have known about it but it was reported the other day that the fighters were told on the 23rd September and yet two weeks later the b sample still hasn't been tested. I linked the tweet but Adam Booth suggested that they've kept this quiet until it was too late for the b sample to be tested so that the fight could be forced through.

I've just watched the following interview with Gareth Davies and he's said that the failed test was from 1st September, that Benn's only been tested once by UKAD and the drug in question leaves the body in 3-4 days. If that's the case, Benn not failing a UKAD test counts for very little.

I wonder why Benn signed up voluntary to be tested by this other organisation if he's now trying to ignore the result.

He seems to be blaming it on everyone else.

It looks like he tried to take the moral high ground with Eubank and got found out.

Makes you wonder if Tony Sims is dirty, if he knew nothing then you would expect him to drop Benn out of his gym but i would bet my house that wont happen

Adam booth presumably is just making an assumption but for sure it’s quite possible. Now if it had been kept from Eubanks side then it’s a travesty but all parties were aware and willing to go though with it.

I think it looks much worse than it is but obviously people just see him as a cheat no matter what now. BBBofC have got a lot to answer for and the fans have been treated appallingly. What a mess.
