*** The Official BTCC Thread ***

The depth of talent in BTCC does seem a tad low these days. Once again Plato comes from the back and grabs a podium, which is great, but doesn't do the series any favours.

That DTM race was the first I seen in donkey's years. It had its moments and the old Austrian GP track looked quite stunning.

The best years were when the cars looked pretty much what people would be driving home in.

Etc.

DTM is unique, switching to a format like that over here would kill off BTCC seeing as it's mostly privateer teams now.

Plato wouldn't have taken a podium position if Jackson and Onslow-Cole didn't take each other out. It doesn't help that there's two class of car on track.

Anyone get burnt? My face is still red, definitely was not expecting that level of heat on the Sunday going by all the weather reports!

Hah, I had factor 40 on and look rather sexy with my tan. Can't say I had much of a clue what was going on most of the day but loved the atmosphere, although not a ton of action where we were at various points. The Ginetta binning it on the first corner made an awesome sound though.

Here's a snap I got:

Mildly. Slapped some Factor 25 on before I went but it didn't hold out too well! It wasn't that sunny, but I should have known better...

Started glowing on Sunday night, has pretty much gone now.

Some of the drivers seemed a bit confused as to which way to go round the track.......

As soon as you add aero to race cars the racing suffers, DTM being a great example and to be fair it's always been pretty processional in DTM, even when the cars were more like BTCC, but with more horses. DRM was my favourite as even if the racing became a bit of a procession the cars were incredible.
