Plato fan much?

Jackson was lapping Plato 0.5 secs quicker in Race 1. He had plenty of laps to get past. He got past Collard with ease, who was always on the tail of plato...

Not really, but he's always good value on and off the track. That was the first race I'd actually managed see this season, so I haven't followed it much. Not enough time.

He's been a grade A **** this season. Spent most of last season moaning about regulations, but seems happy this season now he has the quickest car in the field.

Also, he dishes out plenty knocks, but can't seem to take them. Noticeably wiping out Neal at Snetterton, then ranting about Smith tapping him at Knockhill!

Same can be said for Honda and their drivers, they were happy as Larry last year with the quickest car now every race weekend its the same old moaning about boost

And at least Plato doesn't start disrespecting and insulting the marshals when things don't go his way.

Yeah, that was a poor show to be honest.

The trouble with the parity rules is that it gives everyone an excuse to moan whenever they feel they are slower. Its good that the racing is so close that they feel 0.1bar of boost can mean the difference between winning or loosing, but it does mean that all people do is moan.

Like I said, good value for money. When I go to the track I want to be entertained. Yesterday's racing was entertaining for whatever reason people want to claim.

And it was dry and sometimes warm and sunny, bonus.

Thats what happens with ballast, The Focus NGTC had the legs on everyone in race 1-2 when it had none and Plato had plenty, Race 3 with lots of weight the Focus was no where near as fast and Plato had none in the final race so was bound to be faster compared to race 1 and 2.

I like how you say the Focus NGTC going from 17th to win Race 2 its just "quick" but when Plato does similar he's clearly cheating, clearly no bias there.

Regarding giving other cars a tap, you must be new to BTCC.

Not new and usually thoroughly enjoy the racing but came away very disappointed from yesterday. Point taken on the focus though, had forgotten he'd started so far back. What happened yesterday was more than a switch in ballast, I didn't go to support anyone in particular but Plato looked like he had a bit of assistance to me. He's good but no one is that good. That's just my opinion though.

OK, so, last year Plato was whining about turbo boost at every opportunity and people slated him. Now, Neal and Sheddon moaning and it's all "aww poor Honda, bad BTCC".

Strange, no?

Can't wait until they are running the same regs, the moaning is a little annoying. Hope Plato wins this year.

Last year was different. Chevvy chose to run an S2000 engine when they had the option of an NGTC one, and then still had the cheek to complain about it.

This year everyone is running NGTC engines.

They are running the same regs. The MG and the Honda's are both full NGTC cars. Alan Gow has just had to start performance balancing the NGTC engines as some (Honda) are better than others.

I think you've oversimplified what happened there... Skeeter explains above so I'm not going to repeat what he said.

Took a last minute trip to Silverstone for the weekend, had an enjoyable couple of days. Surprised by the weather, Saturday was great & bar the foggy start and cold fingers at the end, Sunday was too. Was gutted for Jackson in race 1, but its all swings and roundabouts as race 2 showed.

Some pics, took loads but never shot any sort of Motorsport before so binned loads.

To be honest I've yet to hear any childish moaning from Shedden. He has the odd funny remark, but he seems genuinely light hearted about it.

Whereas Plato thought he owned the series last year, and thus was disappointed he didn't have as quick a car as the Hondas. It's plain to see the disadvantage the Civics have on the straights.

I totally agree on you point about the marshals, but that was Neal snr making those remarks.

Anyway, I really hope Shedden wins the title this year, he's actually deserved the title this year. Very clean driver, and always plucking away when things are not going his way.

To be fair on Shedden, he really hasn't moaned as much as Neal has.

And as far as the situation being different, it is and it isn't. In both scenarios, this year and last, they all had the option to keep their mouths shut about it but they chose to say what they said.

I do hope that either Shedden or Plato win the Championship.

The difference was that last year Chevvy chose to run an engine they knew (and admitted) would be slower than the turbos, and then complained they were slower than the turbos. This year they are all running the same spec engine so expect them to be equal.

Your right they could keep their mouths shut. But the reason people got so annoyed with Plato last year is because he was complaining about a situation they chose to be in.

You can't pick the fat kid for your team and then complain that you lost because of the fat kid.

i don't mind the moaning tbh, I enjoy that this series allows the drivers to speak their mind rather than the PR gags F1 drivers are forced to wear. Obviously it does mean at times it can go too far, but I'd rather have it like this than some PR fest with everyone being kept in line, it makes better TV for a start.

Neal and Plato will always moan, top teams/drivers always will when it isn't going "their way", Sheddon just doesn't seem to have the chip on his shoulder that Neal/Plato have, yet.
