**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

Anyone seen a release date for the Poco F5 pro? I keep having a quick look but I can't find anything solid.

Say the phone is priced at £350-370, is there anything else at that price point I should look at? Ive had Poco F1,2,3 so I'm happy with the phones. The f4 wasn't much of a upgrade at all so I skipped that one.

@maj

That seemed quite painful. I did say that you should back up your files as it will most likely wipe your device. Hopefully didn't lose any important stuff.

Yeah it was. Everything I needed was backed up to the cloud prior to doing it as was aware of the risks. I wasn't bothered about loosing my txt history etc.

I've not tried flashing ROM again since but I have tried the official TWRP instead of the one the ROM author said to use and my internal storage was visible as opposed to showing 0mb when going back to the custom one so it looks to be something to do with using that custom version of TWRP. I can't see why that particular version needs to be used instead of the official ones.

No SD Card slot and no headphone jack.

Another one off the list.

Has anyone had issues adding banking card to Google pay after unlocking boot loader? Everytime I try and add my card I get an error that my phone doesn't meet security standards. Was fine before I unlocked.

Running miui 14 global rom.

It will be this month, looking at around £400 i think but early bird sales are usually discounted.
Edit it's on the website now £480 :(

I saw it a bit later. It was £500 then £470 hahahaha. I think they put random prices up all the time with these phones.

If it was under £400 I would have probably bought it. I'll wait for a month or 2 now, see what happens

Ye it is pricey but that's the 12gb ram version so the 8gb version will be cheaper.I have ordered it anyway i have had an F3 since last March that has served me well so thought what the hell :D

I'm still on the f3. Think I've had it over 2 years now. Been itching for a new phone for a while but I'm going to hold out.

I've had Redmi Note 8 pro for 3.5 years now - been a fantastic phone and it's still like new, but getting the itch to upgrade £250 max new or Amazon refurb. Any suggestions?

There's so many phones now and all have similar confusing names/variations. Not really bothered about camera or playing games, or making calls just use it for mainly web browsing but I still like to have all the bells and whistles just in case. Long battery life and fast charging is very important. Was looking at the Galaxy s20 or Poco X5 but i'd really like to stick with Xiaomi because my current phone is the best I've had

Hi all, looking at replacing my redmi note 7 with something new, but not too expensive.

The Poco F5 look alright, although I've read the cameras on Pocos is crap. Any other alternatives to consider?

Was also thinking of ordering off AliExpress, but would I be likely to be hit by UK customs fees with imports from China?

Not sure about the F5 but previous Poco phones don't have the best cameras. But for that sort of money, you can't expect everything to be top notch.

My next phone will more than likely be the F5 pro. But I'm waiting for it to drop in price a little because I'm a tight git :D

Also still on my Poco F3. Think I paid £185 for it a couple of years ago and haven't seen anything that looks like a better deal since really. Battery just starting to weaken a little bit I feel but might just get a cheap Pixel 7/a contract next time there's a good deal.
