***The Official Conroe Overclocking Thread ***

cheers :)

Too many people think a super-pi run makes their pc perfectly stable. Im still not totally convinced mine is good enough as i aim for about a 15hr orthos stint just to make sure my pc is stable for a full day of on-time.

Gotta say that these little chips are cracking value for money !!!!!

nice clocks there, is this from boot or using clockgen?

ta

It's directly from boot. I haven't even installed *** ASUS A.I program with its clockgen. I class it as cheating :p

@ devious...... ye the TEAM ram is stunning stuff. I don't play oblivion so it's of no interest to me, but css, FARCRY and FEAR all run fine without any hicups or crashes :D

lol well i'll take it all back!

that is poor clocks, get it upto 550fsb :p

just kiddin

hehe... Its a bit shabby so i think i might sell up and go over to AM2 instead ;)

Il have to try getting up over 550fsb and dropping the multi to x6. WOuld still give my 3.3ghz, and i could do some comparison benchmarks vs 3.5 ghz (500x7).

could someone please tell me how you read conroe steppings?
for example it says: L626A123

All i know is that shows its a week 26 chip, and I think A is a batch of some kind, there are B's out there which seem to clock better.

oh right cheers. Got any idea what this is likely to clock to, its a e6400 btw.
is there a big difference between how much A and B chips will clock?
This aint my cpu, but i might end up buying it :)

some more 500+ results, this time with a x6800 and orthos stable

now show me the 500x X Conroe (stable) on the DS3 or any other board ;) ,

without the "silly mood an told you I hate cats! " moments LOL :D

Good of sierra_bound to post that for you today lol

I think easyrider meant 8x500+, im sure mine would do 7x500 orthos

what? by 90mhz lol

what makes you think the multiplier makes a difference to his fsb

if he can do 531fsb x 7 stable then he can 531 x 8 the same (if his cpu can handle it)

either way the p5b carries the highest fsb so far period :D!
