***The Official Core i3 Overclocking Thread***

Might have forgot to order the mounting kit for my Mini Ninja yesterday, and I'm not paying for Saturday delivery so I'll have to ask in my department if I can get it delivered there.

Oh and I still haven't got my replacement power cables from Corsair so I can't use my other fans or anything, so nothing from me for the foreseeable future, until I get the power cables at least...but they getting sent home as I thought they would be here by now after a week....sooooo god knows what I'll have to do if they arrive home.

Grrrrrr.

You'll only have to up the voltage a bit and that's it. Maybe change the memory manually if it isn't good with it set at auto.

Simples. :)

I need some refreshing on oc 'i' cpus, what should the QPI clock ratio be set at if im wanting to attain a 3.8 OC?, should it be just under double the 3.8ghz, so 6.92Ghz (x40)for QPI

My power cables come today! :D

Only problem now is that my Vortexx cooler on my graphics card touches my sound card and makes on hell of a sound!

Stock cooler is horrendous especially in such a small space! So I need another plan grrrr.

I'll give you some in the morning after this blending has done.

I've got the side panels on so get a proper idea of how the temps will be under full load.

Its pretty clean and stuff, the front fans can get the air into the case fine. I'm just not sure its getting out ok. Have to see what happens by the morning.

on an i3 530, set the blck to 173 and the multi to 22 for 3.8ghz. the thing with these i3's, you can run the QPI at the same speed as the core. run the QPI as close to the core speed as possible because it helps reduce memory latency

Hi all, long time reader but first time posting here!

I've just built an i3 530 system, with an H55M-UD2H. I'm running at 3.5GHz atm:

160x22
Vcore: 1.25
QPI/VTT: 1.1V
CPU PLL: 1.8V
CPU VAXG: 1.22V
DRAM: 1.5V

I've not done much tweaking yet, as, often when saving BIOS settings, the system will turn off, turn on, turn off, turn on again and have no output to the monitor, and emit a continuous beep from the case speaker. Is this normal behaviour for insufficient voltage (which voltage?).

Sometimes, it'll turn off and turn on a couple of times, and then boot fine.

My ASUS P6TD doesn't exhibit this behavior with 'bad' BIOS settings, neither did my old gigabyte P45 board. Should I be worried?

I've read through this thread a few times, but there is hardly any mention of voltages other than Vcore. What QPI/VTT are you guys running at to achieve 4GHz?

I assume CPU VAXG voltage is to do with the onboard graphics? 1.220V seems to be the default here, should I just leave it at that? I use the onboard graphics on this system.

Thanks :)

All my voltages are stock apart from Vcore and Memory.

Didn't need to touch the others to hit 4GHz, just manually set them all to stock settings so the BIOS didn't auto ramp them.

Will do 4GHz @ 200x20, 4GHz QPI (8GHz), 1600MHz mem @ 1.30625V (Vcore), 1.66V (Vmem).

Easy as that.
