***The Official Core i7 Overclocking Thread***

Nice going easy, but it does show the limitation of the co chips mate, your watercooled temps are as high as my do on air at 4.0ghz, ive acually got mine down to the high 60's through using 2 x 2000 rpm fans on my TRUE black, far to noisy even for me and im half deaf. All the same matey, welcome to the i7 4ghz owners club.;)

The C0's do need pushing but the cost v performance is just ..well...ACE:D

Looks like I will be settling for 3.8ghz at 1.325v @ 53-55 full load. This is with my fans on silent on my loop. Very quiet:cool:

Any more mhz needs too much Vcore to be viable 24/7

I will look at drawing this vcore back now..not that temps are a concern but the less vcore the better.

Mate, is folding hard to set up and run? . Interested in it and how easy it is to setup and run.

I'm also interested in this to, but I really don't have the first clue where to start tbh.. I've tried running the CPU client, but it doesn't seem to load my chip up very much at all, and I got barely any points from the time I ran it as well.

@Easy, how much Vtt are you using?

I still think them volts can get lower for 3.8. as mines 3.8 with 1.216v.
you tried them volts yet with qpi @ 1.32 ? but you still got great temps with that watercooling ;)

Currently im running 4.0ghz on average air cooling, max temp in prime small fft is 69c (2x2000 rpm fans on a TRUE black). Never used linux myself so cant comment on it, currently on win 7 64 home premium. Btw, what cooling you on at the minute?

Davy, we could be folding noobs together, i was interested in it before when i had my old 3.8ghz q6600, i believe u can use graphics card clients as well, sadly im reduced from a gtx 280 to an 8800gt theese days.:(

I have the P6T Deluxe V2..

Yeah, great boards. I'm thinking about switching it though becauase it hasn't got a PCI slot at the bottom, just a PCI express and the PCI slots are blocked by a single graphics card which blows. So I can't use my TV card
I've either gotta swap boards or buy a new TV card that fits PCI Express.

Ordered a new Fractal case yesterday, gonne see what kind of temps I can get at 3.8 :D Will be nice to a have a lovely quiet overclock.

Ok I have sold the C0/C1 and invested 15 quid extra in a D0

Vcore testing 1.25

Temps 55c full load at 4ghz D0

4ghz C0/C1 67c Full load so 12c difference over the D0
