someone has just told me that the wii online game system will be implemented in spring, not sure if thats correct though.

I think mine is the same too. It's a shame it will probably be too late to cancel any online game orders by the time we find out what bundles will be offered.
 
Humph just got home from work where we have a Wii countdown clock spent most of the day just looking at the clock lol, I've managed to get a Nintendo componant cable for my machine though I got a Japanese one for about £35 including p+p bit of a bargin I think considering they were going for like $150 :)
 
Only the biggest stores got 360's in, dont know if it will be the same for the Wii

You see now you've bought 360s into this thread that super market will be classed as a competitor. :( Quick edit it to a famous super market which some store open 24 hours. I think that may be alright. ;)

I was under the impression that it's just a blanket ban on mentioning any names in Games at all, regardless of whether 360s are mentioned. Could a passing mod confirm/correct this please?

Certainly wasn't true where I have my saturday job, in fact, for a couple of days we were the only place in the area with stock - people didn't think to try us. At present we have (IIRC) a grand total of 14 pre-orders as well :D .

There will be a shed load of Wiis about on the Friday. I would imagine there will be stocks in general electronic retailers and of course the 24hr supermarkets. No reason there shouldn't be. No one has said stocks will be limited before xmas and the official line is that there will be pleanty of them. Similar to the DS launch

By saturday lunchtime it will be different as all the kids will be out with their parents etc buying them.

I just need to raise £180 in 4 days. :(
 
Mine from a UK store has dispatched! Can't wait! :D Although none of my accessories have even processed yet.
 
That rather large uk store that is showing Wii orders as dispatched is probably only getting all the orders ready. So your card will be charged and order packaged ready for shipping on Thursday and arrival on Friday.
I don't see any stores breaking a consoles release date.
 
My brother emailed me earlier, he previously had a pre-order with a high street gaming store which he cancelled and they emailed him today telling him he could pick it up after midnight on Thursday. He forwarded it onto me with a few swear words, as it seemed they were rubbing it in that he wouldnt get one now.

A phone call later he got his pre-order reinstated at #4 at the Metro Centre store on my behalf, so looks like I will be having a Wii this week. (Sorry, its really diifficult hot to include at least 1 pun)

Pre-ordered with a couple of accessories, strangely they wouldnt allow pre-ordering of Wii Play but Ill see if I can pick one up in store.

Now the decision is, should I get it at midnight or not, and rick not getting any sleep before work on Friday? :D :p

Still got a pre-order at a non gaming store, debating leaving it open and seeing when and if it turns up.

Depends on where you go and when you finish. I'm betting some people will be waiting outsdie some stores late hours of the night just to get one at midnight.

I to am working on thursday the 8th but I've preordered mine so no waiting outside in the cold. :D I'll just walk straight in and say Wii please. lol
 
Hmm, called up my store again tonight.

Apparently I'm 28th on the list and they are getting 27 in! although the guy said i might be lucky so go down there anyway.

FFS! One out, typical :(

I'm getting it from this particular place because i have a 160 quid credit note to use :)

So even if I have to wait another week, im getting it for 20 quid :)
