** The Official Days Gone Thread **

At first this showed a lot of promise for me but as someone mentioned above this game seems to get worse as I get into it. Some of the side missions are great but there is no point in exploring after a while. The NERO MMU sites became a chore for no real benefit because increasing health, stamina or focus does nothing of note for your characters abilities. Every single one had the same exact scenario play out over and over.

Find MMU
MMU is locked because the power is down
Destroy all the loudspeakers before you try to power it on or they alert loads of zombies.
Find fuel and or find fuse and or repair generator
Enter MMU to get NERO injector to increase pointless stats

I just drive by them and all the blue questionmarks now because I have yet to find anything of worth ANYWHERE. Oh I have to clear the nests says Deacons voice, so we can ride through here easily next time. Why Deacon? We can just drive through and ignore the zombies and not bother getting off our bike.

As another poster mentioned above the guns are all underpowered to the point of being utterly ridiculous. Why does an unarmoured non zombie foe take 9-10 shots to take down unless you get a lucky headshot? Or 4-5 zombies are coming at you in a nice line but your AK47 is so useless they just keep ignoring multiple shots. You then end up realising that melee with a baseball bat is better to take down crowds than a machine gun.

Still worth a play as it does have its good points but 6 or 7 out of 10 at best.

TBF, them helath, focus and stam points are extremely useful for later on in the game as the hordes become very difficult.

But yes, it is a very repetitive game.

Why are most weapons so naff, so under powered?
These blue question marks that pop up then disappear, I found the source of one purely by accident?
Why does the mini map have less information when on foot?
What purpose do the gun lockers serve?

It is an OK game but not great.

The early game weapons are rubbish, make sure to unlock focus and aim for the head. Love a crispy headshot.

I've always ignored the blue dynamic event question marks, only worth doing if they're right Infront of you.

You can't store the weapons you find around the world. You can only store bought or reward weapons.

Now I am miles away from my bike and a mechanic so will have to walk to either as you cannot fast travel without the bike.

I mostly like to play these kind of games without Star Trek transporters so I selected Survival mode with no magic teleportation anyhoo. :)

For those wondering why there is a torch with no visible mesh, It's either unticked at "Visible" in the Blueprint, or no mesh has actually been created.

Just to help explain a bit further I added a Spot Light (the torch you see in game) and attached that to the gun model at the end. As you can see in the Blueprint there is no mesh for the Spot Light itself, but the light coming from the would be torch is still present. Probably a more in depth answer that was needed but hey :D

Also the game runs on a modified version of Unreal Engine 4.11. There is a modding Discord if people are interested.

fuel can are all over almost every place with buildings has one, sometimes you find them near trucks on the road too.

maybe not if your higher than normal difficulty.
idk if drops change or bikes just use more fuel

You have missed understood my post, it is not a problem of fuel it is a problem of distance. I went over a cliff but the bike did not and I could not find my way back to it because of a large mob of freakers on the one hand and there did did not seem a way up to it going in the other direction. So today I will need to hike to a safe area with a mechanic and pay to get my bike back.

Yes, I have only done the first half a dozen missions, but it's already feeling repetitive and i can feel myself losing interest.

5-10 years ago I'm sure I would keep playing it but these days I lose interest so easily.

oh load an older checkpoint :P

I'd just run it though at some point a biker probably attacks you or you see some bikers parked up somewhere

Just thought I mention this incase some of you not aware of it. Once the credits have rolled, you can continue playing the game and there be a nice little something happening if you do. :p

I can look into making it a press rather than hold. Just experimenting at the moment with getting uassets loaded in, changed and repacked for use.

I never did come upon another bike but hiked to a mechanic and got it back.

A bit later on I was having a bit of fun burning 5 nests when suddenly I had to chase a bloody helicopter which took me miles away. Made my way back to finish off the nest burnng and I have to rescue someone and take her to my bike where I am set upon by a nof so friendly bear then take the girl to a camp and then make my way back to the nest sight. An interesting half an hour.
