Public events are on a schedule. I was doing the earth one yesterday, basically goes:
Moth Yards x:00
The Divide: x:10-15
The Steppes: 20-25 (rare)
Moth Yards: x:30
The Scrapyard: x:35 (rare-ish)
The Divide: x:40
The Steppes: x:45-55 (rare)
Moth Yards x:00
The Divide: x:10-15
The Steppes: 20-25 (rare)

Is the legendary vanguard armour the 3 people sell in the hallway the best stuff in the game? Got enough marks for a bit but don't want to waste them if something better pops up! Also looking for a new gun, been using the same battered old rifle for ages!
I want the future war cult set really but I'm so crap at the crucible it would take ages to get the marks needed.
Got a couple of legendary drops but only one was actually a legendary item, some gauntlets. Very annoying how they can turn into complete crap.

Is that information you've found online or is it listed in the game somewhere?

Hunters beware, the Future War Cult armor is currently bugged. It says you need Ascendant Motes to upgrade the defense when only Ascendant Shards or Ascendant Energy actually exist in the game, meaning that you cannot as of yet upgrade the Defense and therefore the Light.
Only affects the Hunter class, Titan and Warlock FWC armor is normal.

Exotic comes after legendary, however AFAIK you cannot buy exotic anywhere you need to pick it up from an engram but exotic comes up almost never. Also to consider with exotic is you can only equip two pieces at any one time so the rest is still going to be limited to legendary items. So I would say if you can buy it then do so
I did that and got 1 legendary, but trollcryptarch decided Rare Rubbish is good enough for me

I tried following it earlier this morning but gave up as I wanted the daily Heroic and do a L22 strike - which took longer than I anticipated. Had to lame it out with 2 OK players at the Summoning Pits... Thank god they killed the beast before I had to leave for work!

IIRC you exchange strange coins for them.
Here's a handy map that someone made for people that don't know the place names too well (like me!) You spawn in Delta South in patrol, in between Moth Yard and The Divide.

standard arc blade is R1.
Ohhh did not know that, I thought he only sold upto legendary items. I have about 15 strange coins so will be looking out for him come the weekend.
