So I hit rank 2 with the vanguard for the armour requirements. Any point continuing to grind rep with them or should I be doing it for a faction now?

Get to Rank 3 at least, you'll get some items too.

I'm doing the opposite, grinding FWC till I get Rep 3 then do Vanguard as I want FWC gears first.

I did the cave farm last night for a couple of hours. Got 3 legendary engrams, 2 of which turned into legendary armour (feet and gauntlets) that I can use and pushed me to level 25. 1 was a warlock chest piece :(

But I got so many blues that I levelled my cryptarch skill nearly 3 levels. So well worth it, that and getting to do an easy public event every 45 minutes

Getting a tad crowded there though, I had 4 people there last night and none of them would accept a fireteam invite. Frustrating getting only 1 or 2 kills per wave.

Doesn't seem to matter. There were 5 of us yesterday, so obviously I wasn't getting all the kills, but still managed to get as many drops. I think as long as you're firing at the cave, the game seems to give you the drop regardless of who gets the kill

This. It seems it does it on proximity? I was there on my own, but eventually had three randoms there as well. I had black wax idol on and was still getting +glimmer even if I was just stood there not shooting. Seems legit....

Also, how BS are the crucible drops  Played about 5 games last night, won them all, at least 1.5+ KD....1 blue drop. Meanwhile, kid at the bottom of the leaderboard with 1 kill gets a legendary helmet and weapon. Can't believe it isn't weighted for winning team and top three players etc. /rant

I must have just had a bad run then as I was getting naff all when there was a larger crowd and definitely got more when it was just the 2 of us.

They cannot weight it otherwise it will always be skewed in favour of those that already have the gear. Can you imagine playing as a new level 20 with mostly greens against the epic and exotic geared 25-28s and just get owned constantly due to the gear advantage. You would never get anything. It does seem to favour those at the lower end though,

Definitely so.

I invited people to Fireteam but turns out, we didn't need to as long as we are working in sync, not running too far off. I got loads of Grim updates even when I was crapping items, so I settled on working as a big group despite not getting many kills.

All this grinding is getting very tedious, why can't we buy upgrade materials? It costs so many rare shards or whatever to upgrade equipment and weapons and considering it just seems completely random to get them it looks like it's going to take a while!

Does anyone have any tips for getting rare coins? I did the weekly heroic thing expecting three but got none :(
