Is this any good or does it get boring? Heard mixed opinions from friends who have the Beta on the PS3.

I think they are telling you porkys no one is on the beta till today

Yeah possibly not the best planned Beta by Bungie there! Ah well at least I have the client now just to wait until 18:00

Just pretend it's coming out on the 18th. Full game isn't out for 8 weeks so plenty time to try the Beta anyway.

Would be good if it was pre-download like PSN pre-orders but I doubt I'd have time until the weekend anyway so I'm not fussed. Should be only an hour to download if other games are anything to go by.

I'd hate to have it for PS3 like - downloads and installs on that are horrible

It's not the fact that you can't play until later, it's the fact that you can't even download it til later. So once you can download everybody will try it at once and the servers will go into meltdown. Most likely you won't get to play it until tomorrow.

Still pretty crappy that retail pre-orders have had to wait until the beta has gone live to get keys to start downloading the client. You just know PSN will buckle under the pressure.
