*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

After much deliberating, ordered the LE from Tesco earlier, new customer so had £10 off code so got it for £70, my first proper LE too. I joined the Overclockers clan/group on Bungie.net :)

Feel free to add me for some games, PSN is in my sig :)

From the moment the opening sequence started, I was gripped. I like the way you can see others who can then join in on spontaneous events. I only thought it was competitive mp. Glad it's not.

OK I've been playing for a while on the PS4! Its really fun.....but I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing and I'm very confused :o

I think I'm just getting a tad bored now as have explored what I can find, maxed all three characters and no new armour or weapons seem to be popping up now.

...I retract my earlier statement, behold, a blue special!

The pick ups (i.e. not store bought) have only been white or green so far. Shame it can't be used however, unless they up the level cap a little towards the end of the beta...one thing I noticed with it which makes me feel happier...I was beginning to get concerned that the "gun upgrades" were just 1 or 2 options like on the greens. On this bad boy, theres loads. One neat option is you can increase the power dramatically - but - at the expense of "locking down" the other customisable options, i.e. once you select scope, munitions type and the fancy pants special power, it cannot be changed ever again on this particular gun.

On the subject of gun upgrades, there's some really interesting ones on the higher level weapons. There's a pulse rifle in my collection that lets you fire without fully depressing the trigger, strange one but one I'm keen to fiddle with.

I felt the same, but stick with it and you suddenly "get it". Just think of it as either single player or multiplayer, other than single player is sort of co-op on occasion. I hated it, really hated it. Now, I think it's potentially my favourite game ever. I haven't felt like this since the COD4 beta arrived, which felt ground breaking at the time. This, this is something even more ground breaking.

I'd suggest;

  • Play through the story levels, replay them until you get to level 8
  • Play the strike mission once you are levelled up to 8, otherwise it will be too difficult and not enjoyable
  • Have a play in Crucible (multiplayer, think BF4 conquest)
  • Most importantly: play the hell out of the exploration level, really just play around and explore, kill random bad guys, pick up new weapons, play the little side missions (press the touch pad button on controller to reveal them)
  • Rinse and repeat on each character class, find out which suits your play style better as they do feel different as well as having different progress trees
